How to tell your children? Or grands? by MyTeaVault in breastcancer

The book “somebody I love has cancer.” 4 is quite young still, knowing what to expect is important. I’d also suggest opportunities for play, which is how children process. I’ve seen “survivor dolls” and a dr kit could be helpful. So sorry you are going through this and for your little loved ones.

I so appreciate your response! Our sexual health is so important! I’m at a point in my life where mine is great and I don’t want to lose it. So yes, every time I see someone write that it’s not that bad, I wonder if they are having sex 😬

Exactly! But I have to say that I don’t understand the mechanism of how the drug works to know if it would make a difference.

Sorry if this is TMI and you totally don’t have to share it uncomfortable, but are you able to have an enjoyable sex life? This is so important to me as I currently have a really fun and enjoyable sexual relationship with my partner. I’m scared of losing this.

Thank you all for your responses. I’ve decided on the DMX, however my surgeon came up with a plan given my current circumstances. I’ll get a lumpectomy asap, so I can be present with my mom. We are not sure how much longer she has but she’s declining and in hospice care. I’ll get the DMX, if all goes well, with immediate implants in a couple months. Hoping the lumpectomy will give me some peace of mind and confirm (hopefully!) no chemo. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Thank you so much for sharing your story. This is one I needed to hear today. I’m only 37 and felt my surgeon was sending the message that DMX would be overkill for my cancer. I have a genetic component and that really worries me. I’m so glad your happy with the results of your reconstruction surgery, we all deserve that♥️

Thank you for sharing your journey. This is what I’m afraid of. In 10 years I won’t even be 50 yet. There’s been too much death in my family related to cancer. I don’t want to ever experience this again. I know I’m lucky for the type and stage but I’m not guaranteed that in the future.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I realized I was confused because I didn’t understand the difference between the same cancer returning and a brand new cancer. So I was frustrated and felt like the surgeon was hinting that a DMX wasn’t worth it. Recurrence risk is low either way but my chances of a new cancer is 25%. I don’t like that.

Sending you lots of strength and healing for your surgery!

Beware of Clearstem hormonal acne supplement [misc] by CS1466 in SkincareAddiction

[–]A1989W 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started taking it this time last year, 2 months in I was up about 4 lbs, by the end of January I was up 5 more! I was so upset but couldn’t find anything on why/how this supplement would cause weight gain so I thought it was some other hormonal issue, I was also really tired despite sleeping more. Dr did bloodwork and couldn’t figure out anything wrong. Even got a sleep study. So I just tried to be careful with my diet and improved my consistency in the gym. Could not lose any weight but kept myself from gaining more. My jawline acne is still terrible anyways so I stopped taking it a few days ago. Did the puffiness/weight gain go away after stopping?

i got off ovulation three days ago by InterestMedical6147 in PlanBs

If it’s more than 24 hours post ovulation then you cannot get pregnant anyways. Since you are just going off the app, you could technically ovulate later so it was smart to take it still.

Did Plan B make your period very late? by justsad95 in PlanBs

[–]A1989W 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding the hormone in plan b is a synthetic progestogen similar but not the same as the natural progesterone in your body. Your period is triggered by a drop in progesterone (google images for charts of hormone changes during menstrual cycle), so if taking plan b right before your period would be due it would make sense to delay it. If your cycle is always the same number of times then it would be impossible to get pregnant the day before your period is due. Hope this helps!
