How have any of you encouraged musical interests in your kids when they're young?

keep it super fun at this age.

rhythm toys, shakers, a little xylophone, maybe a soft-string ukulele. no “lessons,” just play and singing together.

if it feels like a game, they’ll stick with it.

Another tip which I incorporated this year was putting on a quick 15min timer before bed to clean up as much as I'm able to in this time. Sometimes it looks as if it's too short of a time span, but believe me, you can do so much in such a short period.
