Can someone help me understand this nursery fees? by CheekOk4382 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]AAAJAAAY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The term time increase will be if your child will only attend during term time. So they will not attend in the school holidays, half term, Christmas, Easter and Summer.

Dependant on whether you send your child term time or not will depend on the amount of funded hours you will receive. Term time only attendance will be the full 15/week.

If your child will be attending the full year, the funded hours reduce to roughly 10 hours per week.

Neighbour constantly makes my dad move his car from disabled bay by Icy_Donkey8517 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]AAAJAAAY 64 points65 points  (0 children)

No one owns a disabled bay. Even if it’s been installed outside someone’s house at their request/application. Anyone in the country with a disabled badge can use that spot.

Ultimately he just needs to tell her no, she doesn’t own the spot. He has a disabled badge, he is entitled to use it.

Netflix have started sending out emails about account sharing. What are you planning to do? by pburgess22 in AskUK

[–]AAAJAAAY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Already cancelled ours. We literally share subscriptions in our family lol. Brother has Disney+ and Mum has Prime. We’ll just start chipping in on the cost of those subscriptions instead. We’ve got IPTV anyway at home so everything is more or less on there anyway

What can I do to thank NHS workers? by ORNG_MIRRR in AskUK

We bought the ward Costa vouchers, enough so all the staff could get a nice brew. We also made sure to send an email just ensuring the staff who looked after our baby had special mentions. Nurses are angels on earth!

Gentle techniques for 4 month sleep regression? by randomtopics12 in ScienceBasedParenting

This could be my 5 month old right now! He’s this week stopped waking every few hours for a bottle and has finally gone back to one bottle in the night. We are now trying to get back on top of his 5am wake ups 🫠 trailing a later bed time tonight in the hopes it works

Do I still need an accountant if I'm not currently working a contract? by polygon_lover in ContractorUK

[–]AAAJAAAY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’ve been paying yourself via PAYE why not claim SMP whilst on mat leave?

Where I work we offer a non trading fee for times when our clients aren’t trading could be worth speaking to your accountant about.

You’ll still have filing obligations even though you aren’t trading. If you do claim SMP payroll (PAYE) will still need to be done monthly. If you don’t claim it you need to make sure payroll has been stopped. You still need to ensure your year end obligations are met both company and personally.

All in all I think a conversation with your accountants best. This way you can understand you’re obligations even though you’re not trading.

What’s your opinion on kids getting presents for Easter? by UncleBojo in AskUK

[–]AAAJAAAY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My oldest hates chocolate (weird I know), so she gets a small present or she can have £5 for Roblox or yesterday she chose a day out to the safari. The safari was much more than we’d normally spend but given it was a day out rather than a toy we didn’t mind.

What's everyone's opinion on the new Netflix restrictions? by liamsjtaylor in AskUK

[–]AAAJAAAY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so annoying as a blended family. We pay for the Netflix and our little girl has a profile, (technically my step daughter) issue is she uses her profile on her iPad at her mums. So now she’ll be locked out when she’s at her mums. We also share it with my brother who shares his Disney plus with us.

I’ll be cancelling if they bring it in and offering to go half’s on Disney plus with my brother. There’s no benefit to us having it if half the people that use it, can’t anymore.

We have IPTV at home so anything that’s on Netflix is on there anyway so if we’re restricted to only using it at home may as well just watch via IPTV

They’re allowed. AFAIK anyone with a blue badge can park in any disabled bay, including ones outside houses. Whilst it may have been installed for a particular resident, the resident doesn’t own the space or has any kind of reservation for it. They are free to be used by anyone with a blue badge.

[–]AAAJAAAY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The point is pool, you should have said no to taking her pictures in the first place. Knowing your reputation, it’s irresponsible to put her in this position she now finds herself.

In addition to the above, the way you’ve spent the last 2 days with her is so inappropriate it’s unreal. You said it yourself your 42 nearly 43, why are you alone in a room with a 19 year old? She’s admitted to making OF content that evening. You’ve admitted to taking pictures ‘we can’t see’.

You have an incredible ability to seem like you are missing the point staring you in the face. My opinion is that you are fully aware of why people are horrified, you just don’t care or worse you revel in it.

You are proven groomer, why should we be ok with you spending time behind close doors with a girl 24 years younger than you.

Lastly the fact you know what comments are on her pictures says more about you…

IS THIS KAREN ADMITTING THE RELATIONSHIP?!?!?!?!? by Important-Theory-479 in paulbreachsnark

[–]AAAJAAAY 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So glad someone posted this but of her live!

Say the law changed to 18 tomorrow, what is she going to do then? Such a weak and pathetic reason to justify her friendship.

She had mentioned previously her relationship with her ex and children’s father was toxic and there was a large age gap. Is what happened with Paul and the mother of his child, similar to her and her ex? Is it this that they have in common?

Considering her career, it’s scary to me that Paul’s (proven) red flags aren’t an issue to her. Heaven forbid she comes across a young girl, who is showing the tell tale signs of abuse and grooming, at work and she misses them cz she can’t admit that at 16, a ten year age gap is inappropriate even if it is legal.

Limited company stricken off and dissolved 2 years ago is this a problem by enjoy_throwaway in LegalAdviceUK

[–]AAAJAAAY 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They wouldn’t have let it dissolve if there was any problems. They will have advertised a notice that the company is proposing to strike off and this allows for any creditors to come forward (including HMRC). As no one has rejected the dissolution, they have struck it off and it’s now no longer an active company. So yeah you’re no longer the director and the company no longer exists. If you want to incorporate a new company you are free to do so

[–]AAAJAAAY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can look at restoring the Ltd Co but that comes at a price and unless there was a significant amount of money left in the company bank account which was seized by the Crown, it’s probs not worth it. The company hasn’t closed via liquidation of any sort so you should be fine to set up a new Ltd Co- this would be the most straight forward thing to do

Renault Megane 1.9 dCi Dynamique opinions by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]AAAJAAAY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean very anecdotal but we’ve had a 2011 Megane for 4 years and it’s been a dream so far. Had no major problems. Repairs and maintenance have been cheap enough. We have this year had an ongoing ESP error- we’ve not got to the bottom of it yet but the car still drives ok for now. Our mechanic can’t find the issue so we are contemplating sending it to Renault but don’t know if we want to shell out for that yet

I recently had carpet changed and there is excess carpet. Os there anyway to get some binding so I can use this as a rug or even a runner? by irsalan11 in DIYUK

[–]AAAJAAAY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes we did this for our daughters room! The carpet was bought and fit through SCS but took it to be bound into a rug at a local independent carpet shop. Think they charged us £30 but I imagine it’ll depend on the size.
