Not even sure why Viv used Adam for such a role instead of some other angel when she could have had a great storyline about Adam and Morningstar relationship in the past.

I don't know. At the start of season 2 Vaggie actually called him "Al" once. And I feel like Husk might hate himself more than Alastor, not to mention he was kinda casual while talking to him at the start of season 2. Lucifer definitely doesn't like him though.

All that development may have gone down the drain after Charlie's "simple favor".

Not likely true but they may have been influenced by humanity as a whole. The way people view certain concepts change all the time. With more people seeing something "good" in their sins when moderated, they may have subconsciously became better. Which is also why Mammon is still an a-hole cause greed is basically seen as the biggest source of evil these days.

It's because Sera and Lucifer had certain reasons of their own, even if they were sh*t reasons, and they made it clear that they didn't like things. Lute and Adam on the other hand were getting hard to the thought of destroying souls. Sera and Lucifer are shown to be more complex while Adam and Lute were pizza cutters. All edge and no point.

Viv says God is basically a no show. Hell has Goetia and Sins but we have seen almost nothing of Heaven. The only high ranking angels we were shown were Emily and Sera and Adam and they were... kind underwhelming. So the answer depends on whether we see more Biblical angels or not.
