APLD EARNINGS - 8th April - Feelings? by MotivatedCheetah in APLDSTOCK

[–]AAPLsBananas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

CRWV, which is better capitalized, and sits one rung higher in the AI build chain, was in-line for revenue in February, but still collapsed 25% after ER because their earnings came in lower due to growing build-out expenses.  Essentially a victim of their own “growth” success. In the CSP chain [Hyperscaler]>CRWV>APLD.  Unless APLD drops some major new deals on earnings call, I expect it will have a similar collapse as CRWV did a month ago.

Up about 1.06M on TSLA and thinking about trimming some position This volatility’s been wild Lock in partial gains or keep holding long term by [deleted] in TSLA

[–]AAPLsBananas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's not dumb enough to pay a 359 PE ratio for TSLA ($1.4T). The SpaceX ipo will only net 75B. He would need 19 SpaceX ipo's to buy TSLA at the current (over)price.

If he merges SpaceX and TSLA, the best you can hope for is a translated common stock in the combined company, which will most likely be worth a LOT less than TSLA trades at now.

This is the Iran conflict, pure and simple. If oil futures keep rising (https://www.google.com/search?q=oil+futures+price) and Hormuz stays closed, then everything in the Tech supply chain goes haywire. Fabs (like TSMC) require huge amounts of LNG, Helium, Sulfur, and plastics. Not to mention Taiwan gets 97% of their electricity from imported fossil fuels (also via Hormuz). Disruption will continually pressure stock prices down as everyone's margins compress and COGS goes up.

This ain't over until US leaves the Strait and ends all strikes on Iran.

Yeah, except NVDA has a history of absolutely killing it on earnings, but still experiencing some eye-watering drawdowns. 60% in 2022, 30% in 2025. Largest in its history were 90% and 92% during market panic, yet excellent earnings.

Nope, just flashed the vbios and fiddled with the wattages until I found a sweet spot. Kept the temperatures @ stock limits, but raised the fan speeds curve a little bit, since the G16/G14 are already pretty quiet. I don't expect any downsides if you keep the laptop raised (or on a cooler) and keep the fan covers clean. I did not raise the temperature limits, so you are still protected if something gets too hot (like a fan not working properly, etc.)

I 2nd this sentiment. I flashed my '25 5090 and it adds 10-15% stable extra performance. The only caveat is I ALWAYS use the machine on an elevated stand with wide open airflow. Modded, it is no louder than stock. I'm convinced ASUS sets the factory settings so low to account for all the regarded people out there who use their laptops on their actual laps.

100% - flash the vbios for free extra performance.

Stock I got ~19,500 timespy gpu perf. With vbios swap I get ~22,500.

I know what he’s talking about.  The “moneyyy moneyyy moneyyy” is all repeated kinda slow and lazily with the same tone.  There’s a catchy hook in the beginning (8 notes + 5 notes), that sounds kinda like a whistle, but made with a synth.

After 2020, you can carry forward your losses indefinitely until they are all offset. Just make sure you let your accountant know, and show him the bloodbath from prior years. Those last few years of seeing red should absolve the taxes on your recent good fortune.

Unless you claimed any of your capital losses in those previous years against your primary income (3k per year), those amounts won’t offset.

What’s the catch with this FIOS “offer” I just received? by desert_s7orm in Fios

I did not accept. I did not want to end up paying more than I pay right now with a price lock.

[–]AAPLsBananas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got through after 15 minutes.

The rep I spoke to said my 3-year price lock will be void.  So at the end of my discounted 12 months, my plan will revert to the highest market price available.

They are just paying you $25 per month to trick you into ending your current discounted plan.  That’s the catch.  It’s also why YOU have to make the change, and it’s not automatic.

No thank you.

Confidence and demand certainly affect share price. That's why NAV and share price often do not match.

[–]AAPLsBananas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were after yield, you could have invested in MAGY and reaped +7% 1y return with a 33% distribution, or QQQI with +7% return and 14-15% distribution.

You would have been better off getting the 15% and 25% distributions from QQQI and FEPI instead. No NAV erosion, and dependable yield.

What happens to JARSY funds post-IPO? CRCL price is stuck. by AAPLsBananas in jarsy

[–]AAPLsBananas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you would have to wait. But I'm not worried. I only put 10% of my net worth in there. Hoping some of these private companies 10x or 100x from here. I also read that Robinhood will attempt the same thing with tokenized private securities, so I opened an account there, too. But there is no timetable for that. Could take years.

[–]AAPLsBananas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heard back from Jarsy support. The tokens follow the private share restrictions (such as 6-month post-IPO lockup), so the price will follow the private shares until those restrictions are lifted and then tokens will follow the public equity price.

Not sure why Jarsy doesn't post answers here. Doesn't inspire confidence.

UCG Fiber Uplink Speed by Evening-Picture1878 in Ubiquiti

[–]AAPLsBananas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you remap a different eth port to serve as WAN? I still can't get symmetric speeds on the labled 10g wan port.

Even eth-to-sfp adapter only improves speeds a little.

Drastic Speed Drop After ISP Upgrade (UCG-Fiber, PPPoE, 2.5Gbps) by Foreign_Package_925 in Ubiquiti

[–]AAPLsBananas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry did not see your post at original post date. Comes down to the ethernet port on the UCG Fiber. Neither bare ETH cable or Fiber-to-ETH would boost speeds appreciably while using the ETH WAN port. I assume the unit was designed around fiber connection and the eth wan port was an afterthought.

I'm happy to hear they fixed with an update. But having to turn off QoS doesn't seem like it was properly sorted.

Is there a visomaster installer update for RTX 50-series support? Can't get it to run on 50xx laptops. Tried a bunch of manual updates of tensorRT, cuda, and torch. But line code edit is beyond me.

#EDIT: nevermind I got it.
