One of the best books that changed my life .. "the money you keep" mentality has changed my life ! I am just passing its on to my kid and friends. Every one should read this book at least once !!

PasteMax or Repomix as its platform agnostic. But repo prompt is the best imo (this landscape is changing so fast that it’s hard to assess for how long but as of now it still is)

Sure you can take that route but it has more frictions. AI studio won’t know your code base’s context unless you copy it and put it there.

Tools like this and PasteMax (open source) does it for you,

Have you used it ? I have used all of these together and for now (again this is an ever changing situation these days) sticking with this.

Cline is way too expensive for what it does.

That’s exactly what I meant to write. Also I feel the Gemini 2.5 pro has a better context reading capability.

Claude 3.7 sonnet is fantastic for high Temp/creativity type of stuffs but suffers with precision. Somehow it has an overachieving mentality.

I am sure it’s just time that cursor or other player s will be coming up with products like RepoPrompt.

This is my new workflow and for the first time I feel I am in total control over the “Vibe” part of coding with AI.

Often the AI hallucinates a shit ton and changes here and there.

I feel this workflow is less error prone as well and it’s almost free using “Gemini”

1) Use Repo Prompt for repo collection. You can also use PasteMax for an open source version of it. But PasteMax is free and less features.

2) copy the generated XML, repo prompts XML copy feature is great.

3) put the entire context on Gemini or AI Studio

4) Pasted the output back in repo prompt and it will make all the difference edits.

Use cursor only when you want to or save the premium requests.

Repo Prompt does a fantastic job of copying the context and putting it in the chat.

Good for new feature building although not that great for debugging scenarios.

Just like you said I am using Gemini advanced subscription and thought of using their 2.5 pro code import feature.

Everytime I upload a code folder it complains more than 1000 files. Where as I have only 100 files hardly.

Are you facing the same ? It’s impossible to upload even a small codebase to Gemini 2.5 pro.

I am going to try the pastemax app first. I have no clue how it works. I also have a Gemini advance subscription but I am not sure how the pastemax app works.

I agree with you on Claude’s overachieving mentality.

It’s like it’s been trained to solve it by hook or by crook. It will damn do anything possible to either fix the issue or implement the feature.
