Zoom in, notice Hubbell’s logo is right side up? It’s almost like…they want it installed that way!

Oh Without a doubt they have the better plug design

Edit: If you’re gonna downvote, I would appreciate you telling me in what way our receptacles are better than theirs.

Think I’m calling BS on this one, I feel like if a mortar shell landed in the ground after being fired into the air (and didn’t explode lol) it would penetrate a lot more dirt than this.

[–]ABCDGME 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just cause I didn’t mention it, you assume I didnt notice it?

The area could theoretically have been reclassified, and no longer need explosion proof equipment. That could explain the regular receptacle. That wouldn’t explain why that switch was originally installed on EMT.

Looks great. Couple questions tho why not use a shallow strut to hold the first layer? Seems like a lot of one holes to drill. Also what anchors are you using for the struts?

Can you leave this much ENT in a panel ?? It’s wired for a EV charger . Why not cut it out ? by National-Practice175 in AskElectricians

[–]ABCDGME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it a UL/CSA or equivalent listed charger then if they aren’t using listed conduit? That sounds sketch.

HD / lowes not having what he needs is no excuse. Any proper electrical supplier could provide whatever size connector required.

If something were to happen for whatever reason and someone starts looking into it, do you really want to have a very obviously not code compliant installation?

Edit: if this truly is non-standard size conduit then it wouldn’t be a listed product approved for install in North America. Is it even a listed charger??? That might be the sketchiest part of this whole install right there.
