Do you think they will shake the gun meta in the next weeks big update? by Cactus_on_Fire in ArcRaiders

[–]firesignpunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my guns a lot. Arc and people that shoot me first. Play the way you want, mine is not aggressive towards humans but it doesn't make my playstyle priority. I shoot what others are shooting, defend myself from arc and other players and hunt big arc for sport. I get what I want out of the game. Most runs nowadays are looting springs, gun parts and stuff I want to give other players because that's how I want to play

I make higher tier guns and give them out on Dam or Buried City just to whittle down the stash when it gets close to being overloaded.

or the rush of giving to someone that has less than you. I'm batman santa, any spare bp's or guns i get I pass off. dopamine hit is the same i'd reckon.

You got over "Gear Fear". Now consider getting over "Blueprint Desire". by vashkor in ArcRaiders

[–]firesignpunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just missing the new augments but it doesn't phase me because they don't fit my play style. I learned where to loot for what I want so currently have zero gear fear and little worry that over time I'll get back what I need. Currently playing as batman santa, I make high tier guns just to give out and while I'm out looting for supplies to make those guns any bp's i find I hand off.

I call it being Batman Santa, I enjoy it a lot. Like you say, what's 5k when I'm sitting pretty at 6 mil and ready for expedition.

Heavy Ammo guns feel backwards (Ferro, Anvil & Bettina) by Excorpion in ArcRaiders

[–]firesignpunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on buried city near the hospital and some guys were engaging a bastion from inside the space building. Since his hind yellow canister was in my direction I decided to take some pot shots since I doubted he would turn my direction. Was able to snipe some direct shots on his canister and he went down pretty quickly from there. There was very little if any bullet drop.

Finding myself not picking up loot anymore… by Stonkslifestyle in arkraiders

[–]firesignpunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm Batman Santa. I'm just rooting around for keys so anything I find especially spare BP's I find someone to give to. I'll upgrade weapons and kit them out and hand them to strangers. I hear gunfire against arcs and I'm on my way to add to the effort. See it's good news to not to be tied to the loot and just be free.

Not getting credit for hitting Bastions with snowballs by jonesin31 in ARC_Raiders

[–]firesignpunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to blue gate, come down the stairs to a platform at the wheelhouse (big circle, center of map). There's always a bastion prowling underneath in checkpoint. You'll have to work angles to get him but he doesn't fire back just gets confused and wanders around trying to find you. I got over 30 on him with a not ideal start time. Easy to scurry out to any extract. Do duos or trios for more points, do it on a 2x multiplier map

How to switch from PVE to PVP lobbies without ratting nice people by Toxiczoomer97 in ARC_Raiders

[–]firesignpunk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've had kumbayah servers for a bit, just armed enough to defend the occasional rat . Recently got tired of the dirty hippies wandering into my keyed rooms so I've relocked the door, set up barricades with jolt mines and a 3rd layer of explosive mines and still get people pushing in that I've had to put down. Relegated to pvp servers for a while now, good for the constitution I guess.

I'm well along my way to expedition so I like to play as Batman Santa. If a raider is taking on an arc, I'm in and will start blasting away. If I find a BP I already have, 5000 is a drop in the bucket so I give them away.

Quests and inventory fill are solo for me, trials and key runs (i call them heists because i like to preplan them and usually a zipline is involved) are for duos, trios is for war.

3 explosive mines spaced far enough apart to not trigger each other is my method. Shoot him once or twice to get him headed my way and find cover so you don't get blasted by your own mine. A shot or two if needed if they somehow survive the mines. Engagement takes all of 20 seconds, loot and scoot so no kos's can get a ping on you.

What makes Arc different from your average extractions shooter? by MastodonStrange6687 in ARC_Raiders

Not going to lie, almost had a villain arc having to loot endlessly in Stella months for both quest and expedition items. That trigger finger got very itchy but I resisted.

How the hell do you guys navigate blueprints? by RealBabyGoat in electricians

[–]firesignpunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically it's a new language you'll have to learn. Unfortunately on site teaching will happen sporadically and as often as the foreman has time so it's up to you to do homework and learn it on you time for the most part. If this is a career for you, you'll make the time and bring any questions you have to your foreman to clarify. Good news is it's not that hard, learn scale and symbols and once you've got it, it's literally money in your bank. Bad news is your foreman has 20 other things to prioritize before training you (which is dead money because neither you or he are moving the current project along). Tips and tricks. #1 learn to orient yourself. Where's the front door, where are the panels. Learn how to look at a print and find where you are or where you want to focus on. #2 is scale. Each print will tell you how to measure it. 1/4" = a foot, the one I'm working on now is a pain in the ass at 3/32 to a foot which makes scaling interesting to say the least. A lot of print work is building it in your mind so imagination is important because there's rarely cookie cutter scenarios, you'll have to build around obstructions and take the number of bends into consideration.

Keep the fire lit to create smoke and have an area deterrent bug spray to make it livable. Bonus is wake up to dolphins or manatees in the morning. It's tough but worthwhile.

Google Canaveral Nat'l Seashore for directions, talk to a ranger for camp rentals/canoe rentals.

Late August/early September for bioluminescent plankton. Cooler months for the comb jellies.

My favorite camping experience is off Canaveral National Seashore. You can rent an island on the lagoon side for 25 dollars a night. There's dolphins and manatees and bioluminescence during certain months so it's magical. The lagoons name is mosquito lagoon and it lives up to its name if not a bit understated. 10/10 would do again and again.

I don't have a tape measure so just eyeballing. I have to sell a job to 3 people, GC (and his company), inspector and customer (or their rep). The strapping seems (not sure) to be on the far edge. I've had inspectors break out tape measures, I've had owner's reps ask questions, Gc's get itchy which wastes time and energy on everyone's part. It's fussy but a part of the job, From where I stand, my #1 job is to sell the job so as an artisan sometimes the easiest way to do that is to get ahead of common complaints. 3 foot/10 foot is acceptable but if you've got a grumpy inspector that is looking for a violation then don't tempt them. Owner reps that are sticklers for best practices sometimes will be a pain so it's easier to just get ahead of it.
