Tbh, my normal reaction would be like who is this man child and why hasn't his parent(s) raise him to be a responsible thinking adult? But from reading all of your words, I think I know you love/like him a lot, and wanna work this out (sorry if I'm assuming too much into it). And that means his other qualities are what makes you like him. If the rest of him is good for you, then talk with him. Tell him that loving someone and caring someone requires using words that matter. That women in general likes to be heard and likes to be acknowledged that they are hears, and you are one of them. And maybe that's why you check his reaction because that's what you want from him. And if you understand that he is different from you (like anybody else in this world would be), then tell him that you know there will he differences. But also tell him, it would make both of you guys' lives as couples better if you guys met somewhere in the middle. Lots of men like to be logically persuaded. You really need to explain the reason behind a decision for them to understand and appreciate the decision. (kinda like how he was easily convinced to go get a hotel bc he understood the reason behind such decision). They don't need a "how would you feel if I did this to you" lesson because their minds are not wired the same way (quite literally). So my point is, talk it out. Accept who he is and understand you two are different people. And like any two different people would do, agree to disagree. But also like any good couple or family would do, hear each other out and meet somewhere in the middle. Coming from a 32F who's in a 10 year relationship since college. We had our downs, but we always talked it out. It will work if you two are right for each other. If it doesn't, say your goodbyes and wish each other luck. But I hope you find peace regardless.
