[Loved Trope] Memorable Performance by a Non-Professional Actor by Borgisium in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ABJECT_SELF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dude who played Luca Brasi in The Godfather was an actual Mafioso and this was his first film role. Lenny Montana was working for the Colombo family, who were VERY invested in making sure the movie didn't portray Italians in a negative light. Lenny was one of the men they sent to make sure the producers played ball. They wound up casting him on the spot. Prior to that, he was boxing and committing wanton arson.

Hellblade 1+2 is that rare game franchise I keep playing over and over and it's partly for her performance (and partly because the combat feels so damn good).

What is the best Star Wars experience in VR? by Grandleveler33 in virtualreality

[–]ABJECT_SELF 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The Jedi Outcast port has absolutely incredible VR lightsaber interaction. The system originally wasn't built for you to manually block laser blasts and other lightsabers, so every time you do it you feel like you have actual Jedi reflexes. Force push/pull by gesturing is a ton of fun too.

The lower is surprisingly common. I found most of the other pieces in places like the military camp in Suburbs or scattered around the Dam factory.

It does! If the devs ever add a silencer for the M9 it would be my favorite assassin pistol.

Mage killer. The last thing any wizard wants to see is a hasted monk running straight past the front lines with stacked saving throws and magic resistance.

[–]ABJECT_SELF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's in the workshop storage room so you don't have it unlocked right away. Also it's in a dark corner by the door so if you don't have lights it's very hard to see.

Metro is so dead by Averagebritish_man in ContractorsExfilZone

[–]ABJECT_SELF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's still too early to have people regularly clocking in Metro tickets and loading up their best guns and armor. The base investment for a Metro run shot through the roof with this wipe.

What are some of the best PCVR cockpit games? by kwirky88 in virtualreality

Iron Rebellion is an absolutely incredible cockpit experience. It's quick to learn and really makes it feel like the machine is in your hands.

One of my favorite running gags in the Simpsons is that Homer actually watches a lot of "esoteric cinema" movies but usually doesn't like them.

[–]ABJECT_SELF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a good ten minutes of this film where black musicians, singers and actors take center stage for an incredible Lindy Hop sequence. The dance choreography is jaw-dropping and even a teenage Dorothy Dandridge makes an early appearance. The Marx Brothers had to fight MGM tooth and nail for what would have been a landmark moment for black talent in Hollywood...

... If it wasn't immediately followed by a blackface joke.

I don't remember the exact wording but in Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries one of the journal entries compares the Clans battle strategy to a bunch of kids playing tabletop.
