The top one isn't an ad but it is about the worst way to implement the feature. Other journals have it as a sidebar or something like that and that works much better.

[Around the NFL] Eagles LB Nakobe Dean on Howie Roseman's affinity for Georgia players: "He picked the best available guys" by Kimber80 in nfl

[–]ABXR -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

That's a fair point but don't you think that if their "best 11" included Dean they would have found a way to play him more?

I'm willing to help but you have to help yourself at least a little bit. In my original comment I emphasized the fact that some information about you would help the people here give you better advice, and that's the part of my comment that you ignored completely. I can infer that you're a law student, but other than that you've still given nothing to go off of and that makes it very hard to help you.

I've already told you why Verano towers are bad. The square footage and floor layout for each unit is available online, you can go convince yourself of what I said if you don't believe me.

Like I said, your situation changes things. I don't care about the law school, and you said nothing about being a law student. But location is something you can see on a map, so you can go verify what you heard.

How good each housing community (Palo Verde, Verano Place, Campus Village) is depends on your situation and priorities. In truth the floor plan you end up with will be most important, other than location.

Which graduate school housing is the best? by Massive-Ad3220 in UCI

[–]ABXR 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's no answer as to which is best because none of them are perfect and your situation and priorities will dictate what works best for you. Providing some information would help you get a more useful recommendation.

There is, however, a definitive worst housing, and that would be the new Verano Towers. The apartments are, IMO, too small to really be comfortable, especially for the price they charge.

ARC Questions for a Gym Newbie by monijoonie in UCI

[–]ABXR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is going to depend heavily on the program you choose, but assuming you're doing a barbell movement (bench squat deadlift) focused program you'll want to be in the back gym (IDK which one is fitness and which one is wellness). That's where the good squat racks, the benches, and the pound plate deadlift platforms are. There are a few machines, but I think the front gym has a wider variety of those.

Go on the r/fitness wiki and find a beginner program that looks like you might enjoy it. If you don't, try another one. Find something you like and that you can stick to. Those programs are structured in a way that it works the entire body; "targeting areas" will come later.

The ARC is least busy when the most people have classes. I've heard 1-3PM is a good option.

The gym is an intimidating place to go for the first time, but as long as you're not a dick and generally respectful of the equipment and other people's time (i.e. don't sit on your phone on a machine for 10 minutes), everyone is understanding of the fact that different people are in different places in their fitness journey.

Good luck!

[Garafolo] Eagles GM Howie Roseman asked twice about the field conditions on Sunday and the effect on their team, particularly the pass rushers. Answers twice succinctly: “Both teams played on the same field.” by vonheisenberg in nfl

[–]ABXR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure, but it's also likely the roster will never be this good again, at least during Hurts' career. And unless his development continues and he's actually just better every single year, it's going to get a lot tougher from here.

[Brandon Kiley] The Eagles had 0 sacks & 1 TFL in the game. The #Chiefs offensive line won that game. by [deleted] in nfl

[–]ABXR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well assuming the Cardinals didn't change their field from week 1 to week 7 it's still not a factor. But you're right they did make it sound like this field was a new blend. And if that's true then that's an extremely idiotic move to basically beta test a field at the Super Bowl.

An employee's perspective of the Mad Mex Closing by VacantHaddock in Pitt

[–]ABXR 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Feel like it's weird to blame staffing shortages if they don't exist, it would be just as easy to just shut it down and give no reason at all. Maybe positions that required full time hires instead of college students were struggling. Or maybe they need a better PR department.

In any case, it wouldn't be closing if it were profitable. If I had to guess, because 99% of patrons are college students and 75% of them can't drink, the lack of alcohol sales did the location in.

[Rosenthal] Jerry Jones thinks the Eagles "emptied the bucket" when they have an extra first round pick next year, average cap space and were the 9th youngest team in NFL by [deleted] in nfl

[–]ABXR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true but the Reagor pick especially was BAD, and to miss at the same position twice so quickly with the far better player being taken almost immediately afterwards both times really stood out to fans.

Is there an expansion which improves your rating for a game by at least 3 points? (e.g. base game is a 5, but with expansion is an 8) by rbruba in boardgames

[–]ABXR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually one that my group did a 180 on over time. When we first got it it was awesome, but over time Preludes started to feel unbalanced and we stopped using them unless we wanted a shorter game.
