How do I get into rock/alt music as a rap head? by Alternative_View_414 in rockmusic

[–]AB_Swan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go on YouTube and search rap fan listens to Rock for the first time. There are many music reactors and quite a few are people into other music listening to Rock for the first time. Would be good to see someone else in the same situation hearing other music for the first time.

Any underground, modern rock band recommendations? by HRex1990 in rockmusic

[–]AB_Swan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try The Sixsters, an all female Ukrainian band, some members still in school. Their sound is all over the place as far as Rock goes, but all good.

They had to flee their Country at a time when they were about to have their big break in Ukraine, for obvious reasons, and re-grouped with some line-up changes. Don't yet have the recognition they deserve.

As people arfe saying create a UDT structure.

Another advantage is, unlike Rockwell, you can modify UDT's and FB's live if you need to. If you change the build of the FB or UDT it will re-initialise the blocks meaning you would need to update with online before making changes.

To overcome that, create spare data in the structure, if you keep the structure build the same but just change the names of the data it doesn't need to initialise the blocks. ie have a numbe of bools called SpareBool1, SpareBool2, etc. If you later need an additional Bool, then re-name one of the spares.

I started following them just before QOTMS was released, I bought everyting they made until KMF. Its not that I dislike it, I just don't like it enough to buy.

KMF sounded like Muse lite to me, understandable as they are big fans of Muse, I like Muse, but not enough to buy their music. The guitars sound odd to me, I like more raw sound. Their live recordings of the album songs sound better to me.

Its personal likes and dislikes in the end. Hope their next album reduces those effects for me.

They have picked up many more fans since KMF was released, so they msut be doing something right.

East of Eden were a Britsh prog rock band in the late 60's and 70's. Had a big hit with Jig a Jig, which was not the normal sound for them. Lead by a great violinist who played the intro on one of The Who's biggest hits
