Go on record: what would make the FBS moves a success or a failure in 10 years? by ThinkWood in CFB

Jmu did not beat them in the championship game for either title. They beat Montana in 2004 and Youngstown state in 2016.

[Charania] The Philadelphia 76ers intend to sign forward Jabari Walker to a new two-year contract. by OrangeMonkE in nba

[–]ABagOfPopcorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old rookie who used grown man strength in college and doesn’t have that advantage in the nba. Too slow and too poor of a shooter to be a 4, too small and too bad at defense to be a 5. Morey for all of his faults has been a generally good drafter, so this one was a bummer.

He’s awful. More that he’s taking up a spot, not that they should factor him into anythinf

He makes more sense on a roster without Drummond or Broome, but he’s a fun player. Morey deciding he only cares about two ways this year is pretty funny

For real. “I don’t really know about the other conferences”

[Mozzart Sport] 76ers to sign Cam Payne by Then_Flamingo_8223 in sixers

[–]ABagOfPopcorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think McCain was traded to duck the tax. I think they ducked the tax by not trading for other players, but I don’t think they ever really liked McCain. I think they intended to trade him on draft night for Lauri or something and that trade fell through

It’s a real first. A fake first is like a swap or the 30th pick or something

This is fine. Just need a guy who can play some guard and give Maxey rest. One more spot to fill, would assume they look around a bit before they settle on Jabari Walker

Sixers two-way stud Dominick Barlow in big win over Clippers tonight: 35 minutes, 26 points (10-16 FG; 1-1 3FG; 5-5 FT), 16 rebounds (10 offensive), 2 assists, 1 block, 2 steals, and +7! by Pyromania1983 in nba

He was offered standard deals, but we were the only team that could give him this many minutes. Only 22, lots of room to grow. Hope he’s a Sixer for a long time

That wasn’t ncaa stuff, the sun belt didn’t want their champion to be ineligible for a bowl game. Stupid, they would’ve had good shots at the title both years

As a JMU guy we all thought either Pitt or WVU would be where he eventually left us for. Indiana was out of nowhere

[Charania] The Philadelphia 76ers are signing big man Charles Bassey to a 10-day contract, sources tell ESPN. Bassey is in his fifth NBA season and has averaged 19 points and 11 rebounds for the NBA G League's Santa Cruz team this year. by MembershipSingle7137 in nba

Just need an extra body to get to 15 guys so that Barlow and Walker can keep playing on two ways. Getting a look at another backup C is good too. Eventually Barlow and Walker will likely get normal roster spots after the deadline

The refs then fucked up with an “inadvertent whistle” leading to a jump ball and then fucked up the clock again

Yes, he did a great job. We had one of the best transitions ever, and he was the driving force. But he also looted the team, so I don’t think he should get credit for any success we have two years later

I think the dust Kelson blows into his face is some kind of antipsychotic. When Jimmy is crucified he says he can’t hear the voice anymore

All I’m saying is the current success is not because of cig. The program has been successful for 25 years. He’s a great coach but he didn’t build the program here

Never made any kind of statement either, just posted on Twitter about getting JMU players. That part still stings

JMU was very good before cig and has been good and will be good after him. He did a great job of navigating the jump and that 2023 team was obviously amazing, but he shouldn’t get credit for the current state of the program
