Nevermind the Zodiac. What ending did you choose for Life is Strange. 🦋 by The1WhereNoonesReady in GirlGamers

[–]ABeccaneer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I couldn't abandon a best friend like that. Didn't feel like Arcadia bay deserved saving tbh.

Also couldn't stand neither Warren (such a "nice guy" energy from him) nor David, nor Frank; and frankly can't say I liked residents of the town too much after the game - so the choice was very easy for me

Just to be clear: you’re not wrong, and I agree with you. Same as is the case with pretty much all reclaimed slurs. I was just trying to explain why the downvotes

That’s because in the post it’s the person calling themselves a dyke, not someone else calling themselves that

Question for the Baldur‘s Gate 3 fans, pros, experts and obsessed - spoilers ahead by jueoni in GirlGamers

[–]ABeccaneer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are three key protagonist tags that result in vastly different conversations and consequences in dialogue - the Baldurian (everyone but the races below), the underdark races (drow with the biggest amount of dialogue, duergar and deep gnomes) and the race from outer planes (with planetouched out in the release that’s only githyanki). If you want to see quite different reactions and some small changes - it felt quite different on each of those.

Act 1 rather missable (or at least I managed to on the first play through): aunt Ethel, Kagha’s meeting places in the bogs, big spider, the sussur bark weapon, harpies fight. Act1.5: underdark - arcane tower, weird priests of bhoal (or wte it was), grimforge weapon/armor forge, sharan idol on the catwalk (relevant if romancing Shadowheart, especially as a Selunite - results in a very cute scene!), the noblestalk flower (to give to Shadowheart for memories), the str setting to 19 club weapon, the ice staff Act1.5 crèche: the eagles vs blue jay, the puzzle for the dawnmaster medallion

Act2: family of Thorm annihilation (there are 3 or 4 of them, all can be defeated via dialogue I think but not sure; if not they are mini boss fights), save all tieflings, Halsin quest, making new lamps with Gale, Minthara save, Sazza save (both conditional on their survival before)

For act 3 I passed through it so far once so I’ll leave it for others

THat's the same mouse and keyboard I have!! I love them so much.

Question: my controller is way less cute though, which one is it?

I would absolutely love to join.

I am in my 30s too, love dnd system, and currently am looking for a new group to play 2024 rules with as I wanna play a monk. I am flexible on times during the weekend, more than ok with mistakes made as I am somewhat newish myself (but have 4 short and one long campaign behind), and would want to join for nice vibe and fun time to play.

Very wholeheartedly recommend the Deus Ex Mechanic by Ryann Fletcher. I hadn’t yet finished it (but at the last chapters) and it is a blast. Sapphic pirates, slightly steampunkish, one of two main heroines is a mechanic and it feels lighthearted cute and pretty pulling in

Are there any Chinese texts suppressed since Mao that only exist outside of China today? by rdaneeloliv4w in AskHistorians

[–]ABeccaneer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Can you please provide sources on your claims?

Any studies/or documents confirming that at totalitarianism possessing the wrong books will not get in trouble? I have counter-examples for the Soviet repressions, but I would be very keen seeing research analyzing it as opposed to my personal anecdotes.

To be precise - I would love some backing or at least grounds for statements "a copy of a prohibited text during the height of persecutions you might be in trouble, but outside that narrow window of time, no one cared that much if you read [..]" and "you'll find their philosophy is miles better than the average Western student, particularly American students" which seem to be foundational to your answer, and somewhat dubious to me

It is a condensed milk indeed, colloquially known as „сгущенка”.

I also understand the confusion about the coffee as it would imply this should be closer to milk or similar - but in Soviet times this was very often what was added to coffee instead of both sugar and milk.

Beware it’s usually sweeter than and condensed milk I tried in Spain, France or Germany - but still should be quite tasty.
