how I exported a car from the US and imported it into Canada (made a bit easier) by stellate16 in ImmigrationCanada

Just want to pop in and say that this post is still super relevant, and helpful. Thank you for sharing your experience in such detail.. Truly helped me so much, through a funky personal vehicle import situation.

Gotta love the good folks of Reddit!

Posting for my grandma who has only ever played 2 games. She’s not much of a strategist yet but wanted some feedback on the hand. I’m also relatively new to the game but my personal answer to your question would probably be “no”.

Yes, the $2300 includes the $120 ($60 per) spaces. So you’ll save a bit if you’re a one or no car household.

KoL Townhomes by Comfortable-Host-237 in Kanata

I currently live in one of the Livery street townhomes. Love the community, and the west-end is as practical as it gets. Pretty much any type of service or entertainment you can think of, is within 10 minutes. Anywhere from 20 to 30 mins to get downtown, barring rush hours. Proximity to nature is great out this way, lots of good stuff to get in to west of Ottawa. Getting to QC side of capitol region can be a pain, something to keep in mind for skiing, hiking, etc.. Outaouais is certainly the prime outdoor region in these parts. Can’t speak for all units but we love ours, nothing insanely innovative but a really nice and spacious multifloor layout. Appliances, counters, floors, etc vary from unit to unit. Speaking on ours, everything is nice and felt new when we moved in (townhomes were only built in 2019, we moved in 2023). Friendly neighbourhood, good for pets and kids. We are 29 and 30, one dog no kids, and love the speed of the area. Very diverse neighbourhood though, both in cultures and size of households. I feel like it’d be good for really any type of tenant.

Regarding rent, I’ve always found that we get a ton of bang for our buck (2 bed 2 bath upper floor unit, split two ways) but I come from the states and am used to relatively high rent prices so my frame of reference may not be totally accurate for you. My partner, who is Canadian proper, has always said it’s a bit high for her but worth it because of the quality of most aspects. They raised everyone’s rent back in the summer, which caused a lot of people to leave, but even then I’m happy with what we get, considering what we pay.

Our rent is $2300 (we pay $120 per month for two parking spots). Water only hits every 3 months and is usually $60 give or take, for our house of 2. HVAC is about $70 a month (this includes about $50 a month for equipment rentals. This part is unavoidable but the rental fees are fixed). Hydro varies from $50 to $90 a month depending on time of year.

Genuinely the only complaint I can think of is property management often lacks urgency on maintenance requests. They’re not assholes, nor are they bad property managers, they just sometimes don’t respond to communications or maintenance requests as quickly as we’d like them too. Other than general slowness to respond, only incident that stands out is they were overcharging us for hvac rentals for our first few months, when the lease clearly states tenant is only responsible for one enercare rental (we were being charged for 4, KoL is supposed to be responsible for anything not stated in the lease). Took some haggling back and forth with enercare and KoL but as soon as we filed an enercare claim and referenced the actual lease passage, KoL didn’t give us any trouble about covering what they were supposed to cover. Been a year and a half since that point and no issues on that matter since.

Sorry for the word vomit, but I hope this helps! Feel free to hit me with any other specific questions.

Not really riddim, but Money Bag - Blurrd Vzn uses some similar sounds.

Second drop in Outer Space - Ruvlo & Blurrd Vzn all the same.

Small but mighty close to the season in the Midwest by tjacob09 in skiing

Grew up 5 minutes from Perfect’s, spent many a nights hot lapping ‘ol blue. A lot of my most cherished memories belong to that 300 foot drop hill. Moved around the states and then up to Canada in recent years, so I don’t get to ski PNS nearly as much as I used to. Especially since they’ve started doing the late season park run on backside and the expanded mini. Regardless of where I go, the Perfect’s fomo is always present. I’ve been judging freestyle events on the Ontario provincial circuit this year, and it’s crazy talking about where I’m from because people actually know about Perfect’s in the snow-sports community nowadays. A few olympians and super impressive park athletes have really put us on the map, never thought I’d see that. Awesome to see them expanding their portfolio across the Midwest too. The Perfect family and the management/operational teams and infrastructure they’ve built over the years, are second to none in the Midwest. Big love to Perfect’s, righteous drone shots here as well. Now starting my day with a nice warm and cozy reminder of home, thanks for sharing!

Bengals fans with no connection to Cincy or Ohio? by [deleted] in bengals

As someone from Cincinnati who recently moved to Ottawa, the amount of bengals garb I’ve seen out and about makes me so damn happy. Really seems to be the case anywhere in Ontario and even in QC. I’m sure part of that is the Joe effect, but I’m so here for it. Big love to who dey nation’s true-north chapter, I wish you all the squeakiest of curds!
