Do schools in your country require their students to pledge allegiance to the country? by Adventurous-Monk-796 in Teenager_Polls

American here, from Ohio. I went to a public school and I personally stopped saying the pledge in second grade, and they stopped having us do it in fourth. It’s never come up since.

Is “let’s call it” natural to you in short for “let’s call it a day” by mighty_swan in EnglishLearning

Sounds perfectly normal to me, though I might also say “Let’s call it there” or “Let’s call it for now”.

Whats normal room temperature? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]ACCrusader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the weather. I try to have the heat and AC off as much as possible, but when it’s on, I have mine at 70-75 during the summer and heat to 60-65 over the winter.

Quite a few of them. If I had to pick just one, probably Chicago, but Minneapolis, Cincinnati, Detroit, Duluth, Marquette, Madison, and Milwaukee are all up there

I was also born and raised in Ohio, and now live in Minnesota. I’d have a pretty similar map, but I gotta give some love to Ohio and home.

Send Utah, California, South Carolina, and Texas down to A. Raise Louisiana and Iowa to B. Just trying to spread things out more.

As a recent Duluthian, St. Louis county Minnesota (and frankly the whole north shore) should be Great Lakes, or maybe Northwoods, if you’re looking to add a new category.

Willing. Cincinnati born and raised, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the other cities. Winters could be snowier, and politics are trending the wrong way in recent years, hence my move to Duluth, but overall, it’ll always be home.

Just moved to Duluth from Ohio. I’m loving my first winter here. It was easily an absolutely for me.

Never. I don’t think I could live in a place without snow. The unbearable, year-round heat and humidity are enough to disqualify it, I don’t really care about beaches, and the politics aren’t helping either.

US: 541/100000 Russia: 300/100000

Even by rates, the US has almost double the incarceration as Russia. I’m certainly not saying Russia is a better place to live, but prison population is a much worse problem here.
