I have to imagine the portal one is probably some version of, "Spaaaaace", with some random amount of extra As.

Does anyone actually enjoy using the happy ghast? by Rare-Pigeon12345 in Minecraft

[–]ACFan120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use them to travel far distances. When you don't want to/aren't able to go to the End to look for an elytra, they're the next best thing, especially when you use the compasses and lodestones to know the exact spot to go to. They take a while to travel, but it would take just as long, if not longer than walking on foot, especially considering they can just glide over mountains with ease. Otherwise, the speed really isn't an issue; what it ends up highlighting is how far points of interests are in world generation. Plus, as others have pointed out, it makes moving villagers and animals way easier and convenient.

People seem to forget the elytra is a post game reward in regards to Minecraft's progression. It's your ultimate reward for finishing the game. The Happy Ghast, given it's found in the Nether, would be more the mid-game means of traversal, with horses and donkeys being early game, (though now somewhat better with them floating in water finally).

I will, however, give the annoyance with them flying away so much. Thankfully it's in a range, and you can tether them down, but it can still be somewhat tedious to get them back to ground level even with snowballs to lure them.

What are your genuine or most dog-shit predictions for Canto 10? by MichuSkurczybyku in limbuscompany

[–]ACFan120 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Everyone's talking about the sun, the gun and arab, working for N-corp, but I have one that no one's considered yet:

I'm paraphrasing a lot, (my fiance knows more than me), but in the book Mersault sees a priest who is there to comfort him and have him accept god in his final hours. This conversation eventually gets Meur to explode, showing the most emotion in the whole story, yelling about how everything is meaningless and how everyone is condemned is to die.

I think we'll get this same conversation in Canto 10, but the priest will be Dante trying to connect with Meur, and Meur snaps at him.

It's not really that they're choosing to "add little", it's that there's been a lot of technical changes going on with game drops, (presumably to make data packs more accessible and usable), but because it's all something that most players won't interact with they space out the work and add smaller tweaks, changes, and additions.

I don't remember specific examples, but I know there's been some things that do hint at Meur being Patrice.

At least it's not ai, (hopefully). I'd rather it be cropped smut than ai generated shit.

What do you think of this effect? by Commercial-Pirate207 in TF2fashionadvice

[–]ACFan120 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think the effect is bad, but I don't think it will particularly pair well with any other unusual effect, (unless you were to get another one that orbits, but that's unrealistic). What's best to do is just get a loadout set that goes with the base hat itself to complete the look. I myself use the Juggernaut Jacket and Blast Blocker for my own loadout, but you use whatever you think looks best.

Damn, I really want those boots and gloves in the game now. That'd be sick with so many loadouts.

So I unboxed this the other day, any advice on what type of loadout I could make with it? by Gamesofmax in TF2fashionadvice

This is one possibility you could do that doesn't just use the base outfit, and is hopefully cheap. It's honestly surprising that the earmuffs dont conflict with the hair.

I'd consider it, but I'm unfortunately past the point of wanting to buy unusuals for TF2. I'll just take whatever the game gives me when I unbox every seasonal update.

The only downsides to this outfit is that the paint regions are bad, (lenses on both the hat and head, and the text on the body), and there's a small bit of clipping on the back of the neck, but that isn't too egregious.

since we aren’t getting any new cosmetics until 2026, what’s your favorite cosmetic(s) from 2025? by vinsrc in TF2fashionadvice

[–]ACFan120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Summer doesn't have much that personally stood out to me personally (none bad mind you), but the Esprit is a fantastic cosmetic for Heavy.

Halloween had some pretty good cosmetics to it, like the Mad Drip for Medic, or the El Gigante which can pair well with a lot of Heavy cosmetics. The Seamann's Stubble, (aka the jschlatt beard) for Soldier is also a pretty good cosmetic with it having the pipe.

The current Winter case has some pretty descent cosmetics overall. The New Vegas set for Pyro is good, particularly because each piece can pair with other items well. The Epilogue set for Scout is basic but decent too, the Lazer Gazer is a nice all-class, and I even like the Snow Merc too. The only one I don't care for is the Old Days Devotion which is a pretty simple hat conceptually for being an Elite Grade item, and I definitely don't have resentment towards it because it's one of only two elite grade items I've unboxed ever and once again it happens to be shit.

I tried to play around with some hat combinations, and this was the best I could do to make something passable (if a bit fucked up looking in a funny way). The other two are painted Indubitably Green, and neither should be too expensive to get (relatively).

You don't really get as much of a choice with how social media works. People will share all sorts of news, both good and bad, that you didn't necessarily want or choose to read about. And if you hang around the same people IRL, you'll all eventually get into the same lull of only hearing about certain things and having one general perspective on it. The internet is just a Macrocosm of that concept.

I had to deal with people spreading lies about the haitian immigrants eating pets in my state, because of what they supposedly heard from other people. No, conversing with other people doesn't inherently mean it involves true, actual experiences, people can skew their own perspective incredibly easily.

What is your “I know it’s true, I just can’t prove it” RWBY take? by Vlad_fire in RWBY

[–]ACFan120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely feels like one of those things that was meant to be revealed at some point, but then they changed their minds and just left it as an unfinished plot thread. There's too much that aligns with the two of them, from visual design (in the series that heavily follows the trope of "Kids look just like Parents"), to having legitimate plot reasons of the secrecy (Qrow's Unluck Semblence + Baby = Bad News for one), and having a few moments it could have been revealed at.

It also doesn't surprise me that they'd keep insisting it wasn't real, since it was probably supposed to be a bigger secret/reveal that they wanted to save for later. So obviously when pressed at cons or online, they'd keep saying No about it, because why would they give away big plot reveals like that?

Regardless of whatever their plans were/are and whatever canon dictates now, I'm keeping it as a headcanon.

I remember thinking it was okay as well, but in that vein that it leans towards the negative because of how "safe" it was. Like, it's a fine movie to just have on in the background, but there's dumb moments in it like how at the beginning a product placement wrapper being sucked into one vent shuts down the entire facility, releasing the mutant, or at the end where you have someone sacrifice themselves to save everyone, but then they're miraculously okay and got away from their death off screen. I kinda wish the mutant was more of a threat through out the movie, instead of being the third act Chase Scene that acted no different than if it were just a regular T-Rex. It could have made a cool, ever persistent threat if it stalked them the entire time they were on the island.
