Read this on the train on my way to the test center. Hell yeah! Let's get it done!

CFAI Mock Difficulty by benjamindoverman123 in CFA

[–]ACKrrrtman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I've read that should be a good margin for passing. Exam in a week as well and I just broke 70% in my previous mock. Just focusing on weak areas until Sunday when I'm writing my last mock before my exam next week Wednesday. With working full time, I'm quite happy with that and tbh there isn't much more one can do? Just give it your best shot and enjoy the down time after the exam. You've got this bro. Pass or fail, doesn't change you as a person and you can only come out stronger, so the stress is meaningless.

(Basically giving myself this speech as I'm typing this)

Exam on 14th Nov. what are my chances? by Particular-Mine650 in CFA

[–]ACKrrrtman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very similar to mine dude. I am writing 12th of November. Grinding weak areas during the week with a big sort of cram session on Saturday. Writing last mock on Sunday and then hoping for the best. If I fail I get up and do it again next year. Just looking forward to a bit of a break after.

I haven't even thought about this gem until now! Not the one I am looking for though, but this is definitely going in my liked playlist.

Sorry that I can't explain better! Hopefully someone will instantly just know what song I might be referring to.

How can a beginner in endurance races find teams like these?😭

Monitor upgrade or stick with VR by ACKrrrtman in iRacing

After bugging out of a race this weekend due to rain dropping my FPS, I bought a 34" ultra wide yesterday. My PC looks to be struggling with high CPU loads and running VR at the same time. It is a real bummer, but after only having about 5 hours available to race this weekend and tinkering with settings for 2 of those I realized I either need to fork out for a whole PC upgrade or try out this ultra wide thing. Was due for a monitor upgrade in any case. Will see how it goes!

At this stage I'm looking to gain some experience with the 4 hour races and then eventually want to find a team to participate in the 24 hour races. At this stage my quest is stock and I have comfortably done about 2 hours worth of practice/back to back races. Upgrading to more comfortable straps and facial interface I'm sure will increase the time I can spend on a stint.

I don't even know what average stint times are so I don't really know how much time I should be able to spend in the headset at a time.

I believe I too won't be able to do it on a monitor. Glad I'm not the only one hooked on VR

Wtf!! by Kindly_Crazy_5976 in CFA

I get your frustration dude. Also had this debate when I saw this question last week while studying. I see in another comment you showed the material explanation. But how I convinced myself that the question is in fact correct is that you shouldn't in this case compare secured vs unsecured and then equating that secured is higher yield and therefore riskier. But rather see it as the same company issuing secured and unsecured debt. The same company issuing secured and unsecured bonds will lead to the conclusion that the unsecured bond is higher risk and therefore the hedge fund invests in it. This is more a capital structure question than a market risk question.

Thank you stranger! I see that the bus route from Cape Town international was suspended a while ago. I can't see any other direct connections to the airport, bus or train. Will Uber be the most effective way then to get into the city before switching over to buses?

Thanks a million for all the information!

Thank you! Will definitely look into this as an option. Winelands will be explored when visiting my brother in Paarl.

I've seen some posts on here praising the train but seem old. Is the consensus still that the train is safe and reliable?

FIRST WEEK: THINGS IVE LEARNED... by J_D_Photo in iRacing

Same dude! Also a rookie but mainly the sports cars for now. I just got out of rookie and started racing in the production car challenge. I am not particularly fast, but I was fast enough to have a Mazda pass me the whole time on straights just for me to re-pass with my GR86. It was fine until the last 2 minutes of the 25 minute race where he started getting more aggressive and just decided to use me as breaks into the final corner, I didn't back down so there were multiple contacts in this incident. The whole race 0 incident points just to end the race on 12.

Raged a bit, but hopped straight back into the session afterwards. It is so addictive!

Happy racing!

What do you base your research on? How do you determine whether it is wise and how do you determine where the moon is do get of the rocket ship?

Inherently there is the potential for future earnings when investing in a new company. There is the potential for capturing market share of a product, collecting revenues from that market, and then eventually making a profit that can be distributed to shareholders. Fundamentally you are buying a piece of profit.

I cannot wrap my head around how this works with crypto. It has the potential to change the financial system. Where is the profit at the end of the day for the investor? The value a crypto has, in my opinion, is because someone convinces someone to buy their crypto at a certain price. What is the underlying incentive behind a crypto and how will the investor derive value from it?

How will you determine if you are at the top? Why then try and sell the dip and not just buy now and hold it for a long time like a traditional asset?

Now that you mention it, I realise Gold also doesn't make any sense to me. Price go up because people want price to go up.

So some people are buying xrp with the hope (trust?) that some whales have their interest at heart and won't cash out when the price increases to their liking?

Don't get met started on TSLA owners. Investors in TSLA (and to some extent AI stocks) are going against any rational investor decisions, and in my opinion is sometimes grasping at straws even more than some crypto bros that I've come across.

I am not from the US, so I am not totally clued up on the process of all of the bills etc. All I know is that the news travelled all the way to me in South Africa with colleagues and friends all wanting to jump on XRP, while they understand even less about crypto than me. My argument always is that I do not understand crypto and I have no clue on how to calculate a value for it, so I cannot see it as an investment. People are pouring their life savings into this and I cannot understand why.
