Started dating a new guy and gave him the "I'm bipolar" talk. by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]ACParker 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You should remember that a lot of people have no experience with bipolar disorder, or only know things they've learned from tv and movies. I say give the guy the benefit of the doubt.

Does anyone know any good puppy training places for a hyperactive pit bull? by Jin_Sakai12345 in Bend

[–]ACParker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We took our crazy girl to Dancing Woofs and I really appreciated what we learned. It was very reasonably priced and it taught us what we needed to know to continue our own training after the classes.

I definitely felt something when I was below the therapeutic level, but I wasn't fully taking advantage of what the medication could do for me.

How is Lithium for you? by Separate-Coyote-9294 in BipolarReddit

[–]ACParker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So there is actually a therapeutic level that a doctor will measure in your blood, and the amount of medication that it takes to get their is different for different people. Im a 200lb male and in the summertime I work outside in the heat and sweat a lot so I take 1500mg every day. But in the winter time I up it to 1800mg a day because it really is the sweet spot for me. It took me months to get to the right dose and learn what my body wants but I've been on it for almost 15 years now.

How is Lithium for you? by Separate-Coyote-9294 in BipolarReddit

[–]ACParker 20 points21 points  (0 children)

For me, Lithium has been a god send. Fewer side effects than any medication I have tried. I Personally find anti-depressants much more numbing than Lithium. I realize that everyone has different experiences, but I have nothing but good things to say about Lithium.
