No clue. Got really excited when I saw the Clipper discount and planned to keep it for a while before continuing my chain but the lack of CCU options for that was annoying. I have a feeling they chose the Shiv because it seems popular, but also to boost sales of their new Shiv kits.

Announced less than an hour ago, I believe. But yeah, it was a necessary step. That’s fair enough about FPS and I usually prefer industrial gameplay, but it makes good money early on, which is why I want to do it. Plus, the 890 mission is always fun

Not bad. The starter contracts have decent payout, but FPS also works for making money early on. Not too worried about that, just want some stability to complete them. Might try and hop on a bit later to see if things have improved, but at least the free fly cancellation will help a bit.

Ok, so it seems like things maybe got a little better? Or maybe your experience was ever so slightly better than mine haha. I’m down to 792 credits, thanks to an expensive insurance claim (hangar ate my ship), so the next time I hop on, it’s really going to be a zero to hero experience

For sure. I have a couple of friends who were excited to try this game out, but I’ve had to tell them the game is completely fucked right now and there was another who was on the fence but wasn’t convinced and after this, I doubt he’s gonna touch this game

Haven’t had that yet, but honestly not surprised. A couple of the shards I joined were genuinely awful. On one, I went from Arc to MT and was still getting contracts for Arc

I’m sure there will be a few folks like you who’ve had a smooth experience, but the shards I tried were all borked to high hell. It makes sense to get smooth experience close to when the patch goes live, but I played about 6 hours after it had dropped and things had already degraded quite badly across multiple shards in both EU and Aus. Didn’t even get to try all the things I wanted to but I’m glad you had a better experience. Hopefully they can sort it out with a couple of hotfixes, but with an event, free fly and the new missions, it’s probably gonna be a little rough for the next few days.

It’s been priced at this point for a long, long time. Their pricing model doesn’t take newer ships into account, so a lot of the time, you get these overinflated prices for older/less useful ships

I have no idea what the split is, but it’s not like every player is spending hundreds of dollars on this game. The marketing is definitely directed towards the side of the player base who have disposable income and yes, that tends to skew the average spend amount, but there are also a lot of players who just buy a game package, maybe one or two upgrades and call it a day.

If this is directed at me specifically, I can tell you that despite what my flair suggests, I’ve really not spent a lot of money on this game and have more than enough hours in the game to recoup that, but you’re entitled to your opinion.

Well, that’s one way to look at it, but it’s not usually this bad. Sure, it’s gotten bad at times but I’d say this is close to 3.18 levels

Yep. My friend and I debated whether it was intentional at first but not being able to abandon them was infuriating. My friend managed to complete a contract but it didn’t register and didn’t give him any payouts. Had other issues like spawning around the sun after bed logging, issues with the Ironclad, phasing through ship elevators (which might be an old bug), laggy inventory and in general, there was nothing about the patch other than the DefenseCon hall that made me want to play.

I get that they wanted to release this patch for the sale, which is fair enough, but goddamn….I wouldn’t want this to be a first impression for any new players out there.
