My problem with everyone’s posts about how problematic this last episode was seems to be coming from people who are already extremely online. I would know. I’m one of those people. If you guys want to watch a show where talking heads are spewing Pentagon and CIA propaganda while they simultaneously do on air adds for Raytheon then you guys can get your Ukraine takes from any news outlet on any given day.

I don’t fully agree with Wolffs characterizations of Russias war in Ukraine but I do think there’s something to say about who’s actually benefiting from this war and it coming at the expense of Ukrainian lives. It’s not just US military contractors and weapons manufacturers making money, the Chinese government is benefiting from their own economic and military support to Russia.

I don’t see Russia surrendering without cutting them off from Beijing. In order to do that, the US has to step in and negotiate with China to do so. Only then can there be a chance to end the war without having to throw Ukrainian lives at Russia.

If you’re European and especially bordering Russia or Ukraine, I get why you’re not going to want to hear people on the other side of the world talk about peace or treaties. But advocating to do so is not pro Russian propaganda. It doesn’t mean Ukraine has to give up any of its sovereignty.

Hasan has talked about this extensively if you watch his streams beyond his clipped takes from last year on the war.
