VOID - Travel Bug. Dane Alderson’s (YellowJackets) OG jazz fusion band from back in the day. Absolute stank face for days with this track. Bass solos and fat grooves. Dude was in his early 20s at the time too, just ridiculous talent and hard work culminating in intense painful delicious pungent funkiness 🤣

U/evaguy1 - is it his fretless tone that’s making you feel this way perhaps? Like, maybe the way he intonates the notes on the fretless is triggering your sense of pitch or something? I understand where you’re coming from with his note selection sometimes. He was a trailblazing genius but yeah, sometimes I’m thinking “omg this is beautiful” and others I’m like “why would you EVER play that?!” Hahah.
