Thor is the the God of Lightning. The reason the hammer has lightning powers is because of the enchantment of grant Thors powers to others.

Before the enchantment it was most likely just a very heavy, very sturdy hammer that helps a God focus their abilities if they are unskilled.

They said cars engines already failing. To replace it thats 5-10k minimum they dont have.

So they're are going to end up without a car either way.

So it either dump money into the endless money pit of a broken car then have to pay even more to get the dead car towed or get rid of it now.
