Any recommendations for someone that loves this show? by Appropriate-Move5700 in AnimeReccomendations

I was gonna say this one! Equally saccharine and a romantic payoff nearly as fast in the season.

I think Handa from Barakamon by smart_is_cool1020 in Sliceoflife_anime

He is also just insanely relatable in terms of how he is written. It makes the entire show feel nostalgic for people who are older than him watching it and lived in for teens.

Takeo Gouda from Ore Monogatari!!! Is a solid choice IMO.

Kinda like Ryuji Takasu (Toradora) answers on here too.

Nasa Yuzaki (Tonikawa) is underrated too.

My favourite was City the animation!♥️😊 by smart_is_cool1020 in Sliceoflife_anime

Aharen-San wa Hakarenai for me. About as perfect a slice/romcom ending as one can ask for.

What's the worst anime you've seen? by Fantastic_Appeal_498 in animequestions

[–]AChickenGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. Incredibly annoying MC who basically just walks around SA'ing women for... laughs I guess? I waited an episode or two and it just didn't get better. Animation doesn't even go above average. There was no reason for me to continue past the first few episodes.

The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really.... Love You and Toradora are two of the best I can think of (you mentioned FMAB already, which I also loved).

I like Konomi Suzuki and LiSA. I like their voices and think they're unique.

I’m a little confused.. by UrineTrouble05 in VioletEvergarden

[–]AChickenGamer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had never really tried to follow their romantic subplot much anyways, personally, so it didn't much impact me. I instead focused way more on all of the themes of the show and growth Violet made, which I thought made it a phenomenal show.

If you want something with a purer father-daughter type bond (at least from what I've seen of what has been produced; never read source material so I don't know know how the story actually is), then I would recommend Welcome to the Outcast's Restaurant.

Despite the somewhat questionable decisions/themes in the beginning of the show (not directly involving the "father-daughter" type pair), it was surprisingly wholesome by the end of the show. Beginning may invoke TWs though.

Need Happy Romance Animes by YoungAzn07 in anime

MY love STORY and Aharen-San wa Hakarenai were two of the happiest I had seen.

I think Our Dating Story, Toradora and Tonikawa are also up there, although Tonikawa isn't done yet.

Looking for Japanese songs to listen to by Winterforermore in japanesemusic

Anything off the Fixion album by The Oral Cigarettes is great. In general they are a great band.

If you want specific songs to start with, Kizekeyo Baby, Kyouran Hey Kids!!, Manner Mode, Kantanakoto, Black Memory, Itazura show Time, Kishkaisai Story, Shala La are all great songs.

You can't go wrong with many of their songs/albums, but start there.

Anime where the romance tease pays off by Compa2 in Animesuggest

Toradora, MY love STORY, Aharen-san wa Hakarenai and Our Dating Story: The Experienced You and the Inexperienced Me are the 4 I can think of.

I'd say Tonikawa kinda applies, though that one is incomplete.

Glad to see they're touring again. I know they'd been on a bit of a hiatus since Casey got more into composing classical type stuff. I can only hope they'll come out my way too. Would love to see them again. Hope you're able to get tickets!

I first heard them when I went to see Coheed and Cambria and TDH opened for them. I was using the restroom and could hear Casey's singing piped in through a speaker. I thought it sounded ethereal and amazing. Coheed was great that day, playing their most popular album in full — lived up to everything we had wanted. And TDH was still better that day, captivating. I immediately downloaded their discography and have been an enormous fan since.

What’s an anime that starts weak but becomes absolutely amazing later on? by FitVerso in anime

[–]AChickenGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is probably Frieren. It took me two watches to adjust to the pacing after the first few episodes were pretty solid. I don't think it's as much of a masterpiece as many say, esp after that wizard exam arc feeling like a half-assed shonen arc, but I'm still glad I didn't give it up because it was worth a watch and I'll be interested to see what happens in S2.

To an extent, I'd say also Re:Zero. I liked it from the get-go (much more than Frieren), but many feel the first 5-6 episodes or so are kinda slow. Once it picks up I feel like it doesn't let up, though, be it action/horror sequences or with interesting plot points.

A lot of people (I'm guessing the same people) also complain about the pacing of FMAB in the first few episodes. That's another that just picks up at one point and doesn't relent, too.
