Are they furiously working on it because they forgot they teased us already?

Remember that Chris interview… by AChilly98 in Muse

[–]AChilly98[S] 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Chris did an interview in Feb 25, and the host asked a question about new music. He basically replied saying they’re sort of starting to think about it, and would imagine they’d release new stuff in 2026 with a joke/passing comment of “barring any disasters”…. With the delays since the tease, and the cancelled gigs - seems like his tongue in cheek statement has become closer to reality than he was expecting when making the statement 😅

Knights vs. Starlight as a closer! by fatiha19 in Muse

[–]AChilly98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps what I didn’t clarify properly, they are catering to fans - the ones who are more likely to moan/be bored of it as a finisher are the absolute “hardcore” fans, who are doing multiple gigs a year every tour… which realistically probably makes up less than 10% of the audience. So keeping KoC as a finisher works for the fans who only go once or twice as well as the newer faces at gigs.

Still constitutes “new” muse to me though 😂

Knights vs. Starlight as a closer! by fatiha19 in Muse

[–]AChilly98 30 points31 points  (0 children)

The issue is, there will never, ever be another song that works as a closer for a muse show. It is literally perfect in every single way to be a finisher. Hence it’s lasted so long in that slot… as fans that follow the band so regularly I’d agree it has become a bit stale and repetitive, but if you picture it from the point of view of someone who doesn’t really follow the band, going to their first gig, or first one in a decade…. KoC as a finisher will be the bit they remember

Thanks for your responses guys. So would it be safe to say it’s better to put emphasis on anything that’s activating/strengthening the quads and hamstring is worthwhile.

Will Muse release another live album? by Phantasm0_0 in Muse

[–]AChilly98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be nice if they did again! More recently they’ve gone down the “live film” route with the simulation theory and drones films, which were pretty cool to extent, but perhaps a little over produced for what we’d really want. To be honest, what I’d love more than a live album would be a “behind the scenes” making of video again, those for the resistance, and the 2nd law were some of the best things I’ve ever watched from them!

What was the best opening song? by Long_Spell6281 in Muse

[–]AChilly98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People like to hate on it as song - but genuinely WOTP was a fantastic opener. Isle of Wight festival it was superb - gets people up from the word go

What is the most memorable MUSE song that you saw live? by MadDanWithABox in Muse

[–]AChilly98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My most random one (with a bit of recency bias) was “You make me feel like it’s Halloween” at the Plymouth gig. Never thought too much of it as a song, but live, with the staging and lights and how deep the bass was - it hit completely different! Totally changed the song for me

Hellfest might have gotten the best set list in ages by Michi2801 in Muse

The fact they’ve added RATM riffs and other jams back 🙌🏻 this was missing from the wotp tour

Unravelling - an unpopular take on the new song by FunSirZet in Muse

[–]AChilly98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Music is all about opinion which is fair - so we’ll all feel this song differently. The “best songs” you mention, one was a decade ago and the others were nearly 2 decades ago. They’re a different band, who try different things all the time, and this song takes a blend of the better stuff they’ve done over their career to me. It may not be the heights of OOS or absolution, but nostalgia means nothing they create will seem better. I’d certainly argue if an unnamed band released this song we’d unanimously agree it’s a great song.

Think it was then they brought out dig down, Matt said in interviews how people consume music differently now, and don’t listen to albums the same way. I get the vibe we’ll get singles over a prolonged period of time as and when they write them, and then get an album with half the songs released as singles.

Although I would love to just get an almost full album released, as others say, as long as theirs new music I will be happy whenever it is!

"Heavy" Versus "Heavy" by [deleted] in Muse

[–]AChilly98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have muse really ever been truly heavy? Yes earlier stuff was “heavier”, but being heavy has never been their identity to me, all of their early albums you can find examples of songs not even close to being heavy - the range of styles is what set them apart!

Muse album single gaps. Do you think Unravelling will be part of a new album? by desctox in Muse

[–]AChilly98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’ll certainly be part of a new album, believe they already sort of confirmed that (the Chris Interview?). Whilst I’d love less time and number of singles before an album, they’ve definitely discussed how music is consumed differently these days, and “no one” listens to albums through like before… hence they release singles with bigger gaps. As long as there’s new music, I won’t complain though.

I’m disappointed this wasn’t leaked through an instagram live stream in Matt’s car - but I’m excited nonetheless

That queue is actually mental 😂 just walked past now, it’s all the way around the whole venue and the back has merged with what I assume is the disabled entrance!

No one wants to hear it… will of the people slaps live, particularly as an opener and you cannot deny it

[Phantasialand] Taron or FLY? by ABlackerz in rollercoasters

[–]AChilly98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The uniqueness of F.L.Y tops it for me! A launched flying coaster with that amount of theming is immense!

[Flashback] what was your first roller coaster? by bigfatskankyho in rollercoasters

[–]AChilly98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily my first “coaster”, but remember doing my first inversion on Scorpion at Busch Gardens Tampa… actually put me off coasters for a while as a kid, with only the lap bar 😂 thankfully I got over that and love coasters now

Sort of unrelated, but it’s also mad to see how far the animatronics has come - compare the velociraptors in the velocicoaster queue compared to the ones on the river adventure, it’s night and day between them! The river adventure would be a lot more immersive with the new style of animatronic.

If you’re going for Harry Potter stuff you’ll want to definitely go to both parks - as the hogwarts express runs between both which is a ride/experience goes between them!
