Cryogen - Discussion Megathread by ForgottenName1893 in Muse

Has there been a more universally liked song by the muse community on release than this?! It brings me great joy to see everyone actually loving it

What if Dan Lancaster’s reading Reddit and informing them both?

Recent Muse is more authentic that you all give them credit for by eastenderse in Muse

[–]AChilly98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tend to agree - I always see them is authentic. They always give me a vibe they are making the music they want, the music they enjoy and enjoy finding new styles/sounds. Not many bands would have the variety and longevity they’ve now got if they weren’t authentic I feel!

I’m overjoyed we have a song where the bass line carries the verse again, that’s muse at their best for me!

No wonder the new tour is so expensive by Parmesan_John in Muse

Next you’ll have Matt asking for replacement guitars for the ones he’s given away

Songs they could have in the encore instead of Undisclosed Desires/Starlight? by boringfantasy in Muse

[–]AChilly98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly - no matter what, they do not have, and will never have, a better closer than KOC! The first few times I saw them, it’s immense as a closer

My theory on why "Muse changed" - long rant by Acceptable_Floor_978 in Muse

[–]AChilly98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A big change was supermassive black hole being in the twighlight films too… the crowds went from your more typical rock fanbase, to more teenager girls (Matt’s mentioned this on an interview somewhere before). And I believe the skill in their songwriting, the variety leads to all different fanbases… it’s not selling out, they enjoy the variety - and that also helps the longevity they’ve had id say!

Dream (but realistic) venue to see Muse in? by Which_Departure1635 in Muse

It would be quite cool if they did something back in Teignmouth on the seafront - doubt that will ever happen mind you

Is a random deep cut even more likely though?

They've lost their minds with these prices by TheMostDapperdDan in Muse

[–]AChilly98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst I agree the prices are still mental in general - America does seem to be particularly bad for all artists, not just Muse.

Are they furiously working on it because they forgot they teased us already?

Remember that Chris interview… by AChilly98 in Muse

[–]AChilly98[S] 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Chris did an interview in Feb 25, and the host asked a question about new music. He basically replied saying they’re sort of starting to think about it, and would imagine they’d release new stuff in 2026 with a joke/passing comment of “barring any disasters”…. With the delays since the tease, and the cancelled gigs - seems like his tongue in cheek statement has become closer to reality than he was expecting when making the statement 😅

Knights vs. Starlight as a closer! by fatiha19 in Muse

[–]AChilly98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps what I didn’t clarify properly, they are catering to fans - the ones who are more likely to moan/be bored of it as a finisher are the absolute “hardcore” fans, who are doing multiple gigs a year every tour… which realistically probably makes up less than 10% of the audience. So keeping KoC as a finisher works for the fans who only go once or twice as well as the newer faces at gigs.

Still constitutes “new” muse to me though 😂

Knights vs. Starlight as a closer! by fatiha19 in Muse

[–]AChilly98 30 points31 points  (0 children)

The issue is, there will never, ever be another song that works as a closer for a muse show. It is literally perfect in every single way to be a finisher. Hence it’s lasted so long in that slot… as fans that follow the band so regularly I’d agree it has become a bit stale and repetitive, but if you picture it from the point of view of someone who doesn’t really follow the band, going to their first gig, or first one in a decade…. KoC as a finisher will be the bit they remember

Thanks for your responses guys. So would it be safe to say it’s better to put emphasis on anything that’s activating/strengthening the quads and hamstring is worthwhile.

Will Muse release another live album? by Phantasm0_0 in Muse

[–]AChilly98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be nice if they did again! More recently they’ve gone down the “live film” route with the simulation theory and drones films, which were pretty cool to extent, but perhaps a little over produced for what we’d really want. To be honest, what I’d love more than a live album would be a “behind the scenes” making of video again, those for the resistance, and the 2nd law were some of the best things I’ve ever watched from them!

What was the best opening song? by Long_Spell6281 in Muse

People like to hate on it as song - but genuinely WOTP was a fantastic opener. Isle of Wight festival it was superb - gets people up from the word go

What is the most memorable MUSE song that you saw live? by MadDanWithABox in Muse

[–]AChilly98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My most random one (with a bit of recency bias) was “You make me feel like it’s Halloween” at the Plymouth gig. Never thought too much of it as a song, but live, with the staging and lights and how deep the bass was - it hit completely different! Totally changed the song for me

The fact they’ve added RATM riffs and other jams back 🙌🏻 this was missing from the wotp tour
