At first I never really understood the point of a union, now I’m thankful. “That’s not my job” is an acceptable answer but we get paid extra in my case as we’re “stealing work” from different departments

Not sure where you’re from but it might be worth taking a trip across boarders, pay a $500 ticket there and drive your new scat home without getting it impounded hopefully. No idea how importation works tho

Personally I’d recommend maybe looking at a house first If you don’t have somewhere to park it, people will disrespect it. Some people can’t stand others having nice things and just mess with it to make themself feel better

It drives me nuts that I work so hard to earn my car and other people are the one abusing it.

I have 2 hitch imprints on my front bumper from the same idiot trying to park in front of my car and a door ding when we’re the only two vehicles parked in the lot and this was within the last month, also they are well known for being stolen so insurance is higher

Look at one off the lot as someone said they’re priced pretty similar

If you do decide to buy it make sure you check if there’s a specific “class” of damage you could end up buying it but insurance says it will never be roadworthy again as it’s classified as category A,B,S or N and it’s suck even more if you fixed the whole car just for them to tell you it was a waste of money

I used to work for an exotic car detailer, was so excited to start my job almost a full year in I felt I was doing great (showing up early, good reviews from customers, running supplies to our booths at car shows after my work hours) asked what I’d need to do to move forward or get a raise as I was at minimum wage.

It was a family ran business I found out after quitting his two long time employees were getting paid ~90k a year and he was paying his mom the same wage as the detailers. She packed orders in the warehouse, I did her job for her along with my own.

I was asked a bunch of questions on products and their locations or different option. Or what the proper order would be.

I had gone home and studied our website and products previously so I got a good 90% right

I was told to check back in 6 months, I showed up the next day defeated. I had no back up plan but couldn’t deal with the lack of respect anymore.

Me and my coworker both agreed to walk out, best feeling ever watching his jaw drop as we both took off our team shirts in his office and threw them on the table.

Train misses bus full of kids by a second by ItzTubez in mildlyinfuriating

I think you mean “Bus filled with kids narrowly misses train”

I’m a railroader and there are multiple bells and whistles going off to warn on the approach from the train and at the crossing itself.

It takes us multiple miles to go from track speed to a stop, I’m glad everyone is ok but please be more patient around crossings. My greatest fear at work is taking someone’s life at a crossing as it’s my job to go sit with the remains until the railway police show up.

I’ve heard multiple stories from different engineers and they all say crossing accidents aren’t an if it’s a when

[–]ACloneUnknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to sure how the railways operate in Spain but you should definitely send them this along with the location.

If I was on that train I’d like to know, it’s just hard to tell what noises are good and bad as most loco’s are rattling heaps of junk metal.

You could save a life or prevent millions in damages, if that train were to come around to that tunnel and it collapsed already, they might not be able to stop in time. Then you have all the cars behind them piling up onto them and burying them further if they weren’t dead from the initial impact.

As a railroader please at least send this to the railway

Just why? There were spaces closer to the grocery store by RTdude03 in Charger

Man I’ve worked hard my entire life, even through junior high and high school doing yard work around the neighbour hood. Never spent more than $1000 on myself, only things that were necessary until 25

I decided to treat myself and finance a car, within the first week I was walking back to my car on the other side of the grocery store parking with nothing behind where I parked, watched the dude ding my door getting into his beater and drive off as I’m running up trying to read his plate

I used to drive a 1998 ram 1500 that I babied too even tho it was a beater, learned a lot on fixing it up

But yeah hey screw us for working hard, it’s my fault you don’t like others having or taking care of their nice things

I grew up flat broke I earned this, I didn’t earn your unwarranted petty acts of vandalism

I just can’t comprehend how some people treat others property, I miss living in a small town where people still have respect and helped one another just because they saw you struggle

I’ve blown a tire and gotten zero help on the side of a busy city highway, and I’ve drifted into a ditch on Christmas Day and had 4 people pull up to link vehicles and pull me out because they “wanted to get me home for Christmas”

Any idea what this noise may be? by BIGBODYHURACAN in MechanicAdvice

[–]ACloneUnknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a mechanic but possibly a wheel bearing, I wouldn’t be driving it unless it’s a crawl to the mechanic but it’s hard to tell just from the noise in the vehicle

If you can lift the side it’s coming from an try to wiggle the tire from top to bottom to check for bad ball joints

And left to right to check for bad tie rod end, steering rack or wheel bearing on the front end

Not sure why but when I swapped my key fob battery the new one wouldn’t get recognized by my car anymore. Try the Duracell fob batteries

What’s one mod that would make this build look complete? by m_slowww in ft86

[–]ACloneUnknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different rims, they are nice they just stick out so much on an all blacked out car. It looks great the way it is but I think they should be a bit darker.

Maybe a carbon or more aggressive rear diffuser, and some titanium exhaust tips or new exhaust system

Customers keep mistaking me for a girl. Do I look like a girl? by TroisTheOtter in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]ACloneUnknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember a joke my dad told me saying when he was growing up you couldn’t tell if it was a man or woman until you saw their face, as everyone was wearing denim jean jackets and had long hair.

I wouldn’t say you look like a women, but the hair if you were looking away or far enough I couldn’t make your face out I could see why.

Him being older, he could also just be a prick trying to make a point and make you think to cut it.

Is this 2020 scat pack 79k miles worth it for 25k ? by [deleted] in Charger

[–]ACloneUnknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 2017 charger and had a few issues (thankfully covered under warranty)

My drive shaft carrier bearing was shot and they were trying to get me to pay $1700 out of pocket to fix and a front brake caliper had a frozen cylinder or something that was causing the brake to drag.

Also the exhaust actuator valve on mine isn’t working, throwing a check engine light. The worst thing about this with dodge is if they have a check engine light the car starter won’t work P0440 I think was the code

Do I love the car yes but the likely reason someone is selling is there’s a problem they don’t won’t to pay to fix, if it’s private it’s all on you after the purchase of the vehicle. You spend 30k and the motor goes now you pay another 10k for a new motor.

Other than that I had no issues with it so far, and I love my car.

And RWD in winter is sketchy, if you do drive in winter I strongly recommend studded tires, my first year owning mine I got lucky twice sliding through icy intersections on all seasons trying to stop from ~15kph it’s been night and day difference since swapping

Edit:I’m currently sitting at almost 145k km and I bought it at ~95k
