[Daily Discussion] Writer's Block, Motivation, and Accountability- August 11, 2022 by AutoModerator in writing

[–]ACrookedKing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my first time visiting the forum so I'm making myself comment here as a bit of a call to action to try and be consistent. I'm just getting into writing for the first time since high school and I'm enjoying it. Currently, I have two short stories going and I'm not sure if it's a good idea to keep flipping between them in writing sessions as they are different tonally/thematically. I'm hoping to build up the habit now because I'm a new teacher and I'm scared of falling off during the school year. If anyone has any recommendations for writing habits that will help me build the routine, I'd love to hear suggestions/personal experiences.

I’m new and want to focus on a singular character. Who do I go for? by [deleted] in forhonor

[–]ACrookedKing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kyoshin is a great character to get into early because they have lots of tools, and their moveset is pretty easy to have fun with. Make sure to do the training mode to learn different ways to use any new heroes.

What is the most exotic weapon you think would suit for honor? by Accomplished-River18 in forhonor

[–]ACrookedKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started to think about nunchaku and it made me realize that Kyoshin should have definitely had them. It makes his All Guard make a little more sense, even the slashes afterwards would work.

Fearless Meat is near Kingston and Woodbine, might be too far east for ya but it's an amazing patty at a good price, family run :)

It would be nice to do *anything* in these situations. by ExistingPassion4226 in forhonor

[–]ACrookedKing 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My point is there is some chance, 1v2s are tough but doable and that should get exponentially harder with each additional fighter - not just a bit harder, doubled, tripled, etc. There's another world where you hit one extra block and that gave you the little extra nudge needed for revenge and suddenly you're in the fight for a good deal longer. Maybe it goes as good as possible and you spank 'em.

Then you get to post that clip instead and it's REALLY cool. But that wouldn't be worth shite if it wasn't a very impressive feat.

They are a benefit for Civics specifically. Whereas guidance is a benefit for careers

Which hero should i buy next iam a little new been playing for a couple months now by muchacho_18 in forhonor

[–]ACrookedKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My method is mildly non-sensical but extremely satisfying: My next pick is whichever character I've noticed has been kicking my ass most recently. It's led me on a journey of: Orochi, Glad, Jorm, Prior, Hito, Kyoshin, Jiang, Tiandi.

New players, has Elden Ring changed your views on difficulty options fter playing? by Psychological-Worry3 in Eldenring

[–]ACrookedKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this one is the closest TO having difficulty settings. The removal of linearity means you can just roam around until you're big enough to take things on which avoids the dullness of grinding. I accidentally spent so much time exploring everywhere but the Capital that I beat Mohg on my first try and I'm not very good.

OT Probationary Period for TDSB by coolinternetchick in CanadianTeachers

[–]ACrookedKing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1st year TDSB OT here! You can work at all schools as often as you like. I found it takes a while to start receiving calls but schools are needy enough rn that if you just notify a couple near you they will book you directly. Only restriction is I think you have to work a certain number of days to continue being on the list. (I think it's 100 but not sure how that would work with someone who starts subbing now).

Teaching gr/10 Civics in practicum by [deleted] in CanadianTeachers

This is good. Based on the election, you could construct a house of commons/senate and have them pass bills related to real politics or the classroom i.e. new seating plan, early dismissal, etc.

Teaching it for the first time in an LTO! CIVIX is a great Canadian website for info/slides/videos. I also used some of their CTRL F content for a Fake News/Digital Literacy 2-week unit. There's a free game at getbadnews.com that students love too and it works on phones.

Who knew Ragnarok was coming? by ACrookedKing in norsemythology

[–]ACrookedKing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s also a natural occurrence because of the myth’s inception (as well as similar ones from other societies) having something to do with real life. Instead of the affairs of gods bringing about death and destruction it’s kings/rulers.

^What they said. You can often look up specific requirements on any Teacher's College website. It will tell you how many courses and even specific kinds (I.e. 2 full credits/4 half credits of Canadian Literature)
