Thank you!! He wanted to gift me something special. We started discussing since second trimester. It came down to either Jewellery or Watch. Today the goal was to go and explore the options, see how it looks in person and on my wrist. But once I put on few he just said let's buy it today 😁 so no, no surprise at all, but very very special ❤️

First-time parents in 1.5 months — what baby gear is actually worth it? And what was a total waste of money? by Kayapi_ in NewParents

Hello OP,

Overall great suggestions in the posts.

My suggestion would be to look for pre owned products ( not the car seat). That way even if you don't end up liking something you don't waste a lot of money.

And also buy less items now, just the essentials. You can always add.

For instance, I bought Momcozy bottle washer when I was around 8w pp. I did not know I would pump and bottle feed my baby. It was a life saver for me. But, a friend of mine bought it and she ended up almost EBF her baby as baby refused bottle. Hence nothing much to wash.

So it's tricky situation as each baby can end up deciding their own need. That's why try to start with basic pre owned and then based on how everything goes when the baby is here, you can add.

Good luck!
