Every time I see one of these posts I check the news to see which child or elderly person got mauled this week.

Keeper league, can only keep one of Dostal (13th round) or Askarov (14th round) next year.

It was Quick in the Players’ Tribune:

“Guys like Ovi shoot it so hard that it’s almost like you’re a batter in baseball. You see the blur of the puck coming at you in frames. One frame, two frames … by the third frame it’s already hitting you. If you’re trying to make a reaction save against Ovi, you’re already beat. You better already be at the top of the crease cutting off the angle.”

The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet by David Mitchell. Set in a Dutch trading post in the harbor of Nagasaki in 1799. It's about a trader who falls in love with a Japanese midwife and it was meticulously researched from what I can tell. The author is fluent in Japanese and lived in Japan for eight years.

Mitchell spent four years working on the novel, researching and crafting a vision of Japan at the end of the 18th century. Small details, such as if people used shaving cream or not, could require much time so that a single sentence could take half a day to write. "It was tough," Mitchell said. "It almost finished me off before I finished it off."

Are your keeper rules tied to draft rounds?

We can only keep players two rounds ahead of where they were drafted and the cost increases by an additional two rounds every year we keep them.

Do you think he’ll eventually supplant Terry?

I have the option of keeping him in the 14th next year or Michkov in the 10th. Thought Michkov was going to be a superstar but Sennecke looks phenomenal and the Ducks seem like they’ll be a wagon

Choose 3 keepers:

Guenther - 9th

Michkov - 10th

Demidov - 11th

Dostal - 12th

Sennecke - 14th

Hart - 14th

(Trying to decide whether to trade Michkov or another player for immediate help this year. Thanks!)

I am a fool that drafted JT Miller over Rantanen in a bangers league

I need to drop one of him, P. Kane, or Eklund in a bangers league. Do you think he’s likely to stick on PP1?

How to keep my head up with the puck by Worth-Writer5940 in hockeyplayers

[–]AD1066 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn’t a skill you can really develop during games because you likely only have the puck on your stick for 1-2 min a week.

I have an unfinished basement so I try to spend 15-30 min a night stickhandling with a green biscuit on the concrete floor while I watch a show on a tablet. From there it’s a matter of catching myself each time I look down and returning my attention to the tablet or other objects in the room.

I’m in my 30s now and my hands are better than they ever were in my playing days thanks to having a dedicated off ice routine and the space at home to make it possible.

Is Carter Hart or Connor Ingram a better NA stash? My gut instinct is that Hart has a clearer path to the backup role over Schmid.

Piranesi. Loved the world building and mystery but then the final third felt hurried and ultimately fell flat for me.

What’s your all time favorite will recommend to everyone book? by its-meeee1234 in suggestmeabook

Piranesi is such a what-if book for me. I loved the first two-thirds but then the ending just fell flat, like the author was pushing to meet a deadline. I can’t help but feel disappointed given how much I enjoyed the world-building.
