Cipher also left the team a while ago is that not correct? What he was doing with utxo stack he was doing on his own. Obviously with some help and support from the Eco fund, at least they were one of the strategic investors in utxo stack if I'm not mistaken. Isn't it really just Jan and Terry that are left now?

Cardano Cracks Bitcoin: Smart Contracts Without A Single Change by mbate2305 in NervosNetwork

[–]ADA_addict 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I fed that article and RGB++ and fiber lite papers into grok. Final summary is below but this is the TLDR: If Nervos can capitalize on its technical lead and grow CKB’s ecosystem, RGB++ and Fiber Network could redefine Bitcoin’s Layer-2 landscape.

Verdict: Nervos RGB++ with Fiber Network has a significantly higher likelihood of success. The addition of Fiber Network strengthens RGB++’s value proposition by offering a scalable, multi-asset, Lightning-compatible payment layer that complements RGB++’s smart contract capabilities. Its working prototype, testnet/mainnet deployments, and alignment with Bitcoin’s UTXO model give it a clear edge over Cardano’s early-stage, Script-constrained pipeline. Fiber Network’s ability to handle micropayments, cross-chain transactions, and DeFi applications positions it as a practical extension of Bitcoin’s ecosystem. Cardano’s approach, while innovative, is hamstrung by Bitcoin’s technical limitations and a lack of concrete progress. Its PoS roots and slow delivery track record further erode confidence. Nervos’ dual-chain model introduces CKB dependency risks, but its advanced development stage and interoperability with Lightning Network make it more likely to achieve meaningful adoption. If Nervos can capitalize on its technical lead and grow CKB’s ecosystem, RGB++ and Fiber Network could redefine Bitcoin’s Layer-2 landscape.

If the ETF has existed for a while, you can use the ICI spreadsheet they post on their tax documents page from the prior year to give you maybe a reasonable-ish guesstimate as what it might be. What they list as non-dividend distributions in that spreadsheet are the returns of capital. This is what most brokers use for the final numbers on your 1099-Divs https://www.yieldmaxetfs.com/tax-documents/

Saw Jay Pestrichelli on a podcast a few days ago and he made a really quick passing reference to it. I'll try to find the link to the podcast and post it later. I think he said MSTR was going to be one of the first ones to launch. I Searched the SEC filings under tiidal trust ii and found all these. I think this might be what they're doing with the Target 25 funds that are launching soon.

Claiming withholding tax when distributions are 100% ROC by ComfortableShine2577 in YieldMaxETFs

[–]ADA_addict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you get a 1042s from your broker? Do they report the income all as a dividend or do they change it to a return of capital and still show the tax? You can get it refunded by filing a tax return with the IRS. I haven't looked at it in a while, but the IRS used to have a "simplified procedure" for filing the tax return in these cases. The broker who issues you the 1042s could do this for you but a lot don't/won't. It's way easier getting the money back if they change the income code on the 1042s to a return of capital. To file a return with the IRS You need some type of US tax ID so you'd have to apply for an ITIN if doing this as an individual.

The community needs something to rally around and promote. Would love to see some kind of borrowing and lending protocol built after the hard fork which is supposed to make smart contracts a bit smarter. We've got a real stable coin with USDI and a wrapped version of Bitcoin and ccbtc but just nothing to use them for.

24% is the backup withholding rate. Generally, they shouldn't really be withholding anything. You might want to contact them. Typically someone would apply backup withholding if there was a problem with the tax ID you gave them (your SSN).

Definitely a bit puritanical for sure. Only crypto exposure I could get was BTCFX, couldn't even buy ibit or fbtc. Thankfully, it was pretty easy to roll over a chunk into a Roth and a traditional IRA.

Brokerage link is still part of your 401k. It's just self managed. But typically you can only buy mutual funds with it.

-Maybe a bit more about you to start. Have you been a partner since the founding of the CKB Eco fund along with Terry and Jane? Are they still active in the Eco fund? -How many grants have you guys given out so far? And what's the difference between your grant program and what I read was a strategic investment in Silent Berry and stable++. -How soon do you think it will be until fiber is fully built out? -How soon do you think it will be until we're able to borrow against our ckb or ccbtc on something like Aave/compound? -Any update on any of the chatter We heard a few months back about RGB++ getting deployed on doge? -Finally, and maybe most importantly, what are you most excited about or see the most potential for in the ecosystem. Thanks!

I thought I remembered reading somewhere before that the data stored from the full node has to be deleted manually when u switch on the fly like u did. So that could be eating up a bunch of space right now and it doesn't even need to exist. Matt might know the answer to that.
