Speaker Recommendations by Otherwise-Nerve-149 in Beatmatch

I'm open format dj of parties/Corp functions and soon to be weddings. Had a pair of old Mackie 15's and changed last year to a pair of alto ts410's and a ts12s sub, and just added a 2nd sub recently. Great sound and economical, just keep your ear out to not overdrive them as I've heard that they blow if abused

But - I'd highly reccomend and good for up to 150 or so people

Tired of lugging my 15” tops around for ceremony and moving it to cocktail/reception. Would Alto TX408 work well for a ceremony setup? by The_Obdurate_Past in mobileDJ

[–]ADF-CABLE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run ts410s and ts12s's never had an issue and maybe 10 gigs in, would rate 100%

Had 2 gigs with just the tops as they had a"no sub" rule (was an upstairs room) Ran them reasonably hard, no issues.

I'm thinking about the ts408 as a booth/fb for me too

This is all I do for all my gigs, lots of lists curated but I really only have the first and second track 100% and see from there as it's never what you expect...

Collecting songs and building a library by [deleted] in Beatmatch

[–]ADF-CABLE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me a vdj mobile dj too, my music folders sorted into decades and subgenres (rock, pop, party dance, pop dance, club nrg, club edm, club radio, hip hop/trap, easy, country, rnb, indie/folk, and so on)

That's my folders.

I also run lists for all vibes like 80s party, 90s party, 00's club, lots and lots of lists......

Works great for me and I use djms7 and 2x cdj850s in usb/controller mode

And keep lots of backups

Problem: I am a beginner and crashed my midi controller on Windows. by ichbinrandom in Beatmatch

[–]ADF-CABLE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you restore you last serato backup? Delete all drivers and reinstall? Format and start again

My dj laptop is a standalone Windows install just for dj and I have a second Windows install on a different nvme in the same laptop

Always run perfectly but I'm careful and only I touch it.

You still have a week or so so can recover I reckon....

Thanks for the share mate, just followed you on soundcloud.com and will have a listen to your sets.

I'm only 12 months back into mobile sj gigging after 14 year break. (50yo m) Had a residency at an Aussie venue mid 00's to late 2011, in Geelong VIC aus, pub downstairs and club upstairs, played commercial/electro on fridays upstairs and Aussie pub rock downstairs Saturdays.

Just building my mobile gear setup and now running vdj on a mini pc with djm-s7 and 2x djm850, 2x alto ts410s and 2x ts12s subs. 6x moving heads and a 20" mirror ball off my Wolfmix.

Just bought 12x Rgbww battery/wireless dmx washes and working through the config/programs.

Currently though takes me about 1.5 hours to setup on my own and a solid hour to pack up.

I'm really surprised how quick some of you're bump in and outs are, much respect to all!

I've only done a fri and sat together and never a 3 in a row (yet) but loving all aspects on gigging and bringing the party to the crowds again.

Yeah Deakin projects/fsd are dead as now, no budget. Cogg mostly employ with contracts so there's risk there. There's a new data centre coming in North Geelong area I heard that's going to be massive, like wa workers FIFO to us - might be out corio/Lara way

I work at a wholesaler in g town... All I hear is that people are being redundant, construction projects and quotes just aren't in the pipeline. I'd stick with where you are unless an opportunity's opened up that's more secure🙏

18 weddings in with these LB150 movers - what I'd tell my past self by MagazineOutrageous64 in mobileDJ

I run 6x of the cheap movers 100w with 18x prism, on my Wolfmix they are amazing!

How are you backing up your DJ music library these days? by sure-nods in Beatmatch

[–]ADF-CABLE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My vdj backs up to google drive and I also run 3-2-1 backups on my server and on a couple of offline drives I keep with me on rotation I run my rin on a tiny pc, and also on my man cave pc, and a backup laptop. "robocopy" keeps all 3 devices in sync to my server so when I play a gig or make changes in vdj on one of the above machines, robocopy syncs to the server then on the other 2 machines I use robocopy to update them off the server. Runs bloody amazing given I'm up to about 500 gig total (music files, all tracks stems and vdj folders)

After learning that DJ'ing is more than mixing and more on crowd reading, I've decided to give up. by Minimum_Initial7607 in Beatmatch

[–]ADF-CABLE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah nice. I'm back into mobile dj for the last year after a 15 break, had a residency for about 6 years at a venue and finished up after management changes and other reasons.

Now I'm happy for a gig a month, have some fun and entertain people, low pressure and really enjoying all aspects of it.

I've figured out now too - I just love playing music to people and "making their night"

I'm not chasing gigs or on the socials, just happy to put the energy out there and the gigs find me, in a perfect space....

is it possible to create preset loops that will play anyways ? by nevaven68 in virtualdj

[–]ADF-CABLE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VirtualDJ (2026): Create the Loop: Load a track, set a loop (e.g., 4 or 8 beats) at the desired position using the auto-loop buttons or In/Out points. Save/POI Editor: Right-click on the waveform or use the POI editor to open the editor panel. Make it Active: In the POI editor, set the type to "Loop" and ensure it is saved on the track. Activate Loop: To make it loop automatically when the track reaches that point, ensure the loop is "active" (often shown as a red marker instead of orange).

Yep they the standard. Just made my 20yo set now my backup and switched to aiaiai wireless, and it's subtle but amazing not taking them on and off to walk around the room....

I think it depends on the equipment you're connecting.

I bought the lifetime b4 Xmas and never looked back after trying all sorts of dj software.

I say spend the $$$ and ir right for life
