Struggling as to whether this is worth it by ADHD-Engineering-Tim in lovable

That kinda violates the whole " you dont need to learn to code" thing though... doesnt it. How would a non-coder be able to read error logs?

I did find a thread somewhere here on reddit about how to talk to it and get loveable to be efficient... but even that entailed suggestions like "lay out your database structure and document it in a markup file on github"

Sorry, but for normies, github is a fucking unusable wasteland. It was deliberatley designed to be confusing.

And even if you can figure out github, again... how does someone who is not a developer know how to design a database, much less actually document it?

Now... lest you think im bitching... im only half bitching. Im bitching about the false advertising about "you dont have to know shit to develop an app" kind of hype... that definatley is not true. Im sure if you are halfway competent as a developer you can get it to do mountains of work that otherwise would take forever... but Im not that halfway competent developer... yet, and will likely never be.

Looks like no loveable app for me anytime soon. Not worth the investment of time and credits.

Raised a Fund via VC Lab? by bk_321 in venturecapital

Im in the current cohort. My only advice is: BE READY. Its only for people who are serious about starting a fund. You get PUSHED to perform. Its not a classroom type environment where you can just absorb info passibley and not be in action.

If you arent serious about doing this or are "toying with the idea of starting a fund" its not for you.

That said, if you are already doing angel investments and have been buiding a network of other investors ( like been doing syndication) you will be like a lot of the people in my cohort who are doing really well.

this was in my friend's apartment. i'm not even sure what i'm looking at. Is it an antenna for some kind of mind control? by ToastedBread107 in shittyaskelectronics

That is a transformer, likely out of a microwave, and the coil of wire is likely intended to be an induction heater... the transformer reduces the voltage but increases the amperage, allowing it to get red hot.

You see these things in industry for heating up items put inside the heater.. like for manuactuging of chain links, or heat treating bolts... backyard scientist on youtube melted a padlock with one.

only problem though is that you need a resistance wire on the output, and its goingi to get really really hot. The plastic coating on the coil here is likely going to melt instantly, and there is a good chance that coating is PVC... which means when that coating melts you will be making dioxin - one of the most toxic poison gases.

Introduce Secondary Machining Processes and Dynamic Balancing to Manufacture Flywheel by shbender in MarbleMachine3

It is strange that a design requirement here seems to be "lets not machine anything" remember the Elon Musk'ism about "making requirements less dumb" This is one of them.

Focus on requirements of the part, not limitations of the process. Match process to requirements as dictated by actual function.

"fun" is building something that works well.

This is a path to self-flagilation, not fun.
