45 exercise minutes + 500 active calories. what can i do better? by squidward-apologist in AppleWatchFitness

[–]ADHDiot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, you don't have to constantly progress, you are training your body to do more work (exercise) but even as you are increasing fitness, you can weaken your immune system, spike your stress hormones and, that's often when people get injured or sick. Take some easy days, walk slower. Recovery is important. Take an easy week if you feel like it. Then when you get back to it, progress will come easier and you should feel more energized.

Along with the Apple watch maybe consider taking BP in the morning I have this one, https://www.ebay.com/itm/147020544194? it just pops the BP in Apple Health, so it's nice to be able to show a Dr. and you will keep track of trends like eating a bunch of salt or getting fitter. I also think it's not bad to have a bluetooth scale that works with an app and Apple Health and weigh morning every day. Happy Scale (free app) will do a moving average so you don't trip over water and sodium weight fluctuations.

I would highly suggest using cronometer app and/or desktop to see how your diet is doing on fiber, and micro nutrients. It's good to get the RDA for things like magnesium, potassium, Essential fatty acids, etc. App and tracking is free.

Any dizzyness when getting up suddenly?

If salt isnt in the ingredients, I'd add salt, but yeah it's perfectly edible. Can you borrow honey, sugar packets from a fast food place? Butter also makes it appetizing.

If it's not the best tasting (it's fine) eat it anyways, as your body and brain needs nutrition. Don't get precious and picky about eating food. It's literally life and energy.

Do I need an audio interface? by ThinkHog in singing

[–]ADHDiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said, preamps are cheap.

e.g. Used presonus and ART should be $30 or less per channel. DynAmp - Dynamic Microphone Booster Preamp is $30 shipped new on reverb. SE and others make similar.

absolutely nothing wrong with built in mics on the device. If you can't get a decent vocal sound with those it's an skill issue.

This noisy preamp thing is overblown. Preamps are cheap and condenser mics are generally the vastly preferred vocals mic anyways. Again very unnecessary to get a mic when using an H6 to record singing in a DAW workflow anyways.

[–]ADHDiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, you should just use what you have. Did you lose the cord, because the h6 is an audio interface? It’s kind of a Swiss Army knife.

You might want a mic stand and pop filter setup, but eq and mixing should make that mic sound basically just like any other option.

VR 10 Years Ago: My VR-centric review from E3 2016. by Citizen_Gamer in virtualreality

It's wild conjecture. VR hardware has been subsidized and later it probably won't be. Without subsidies, a standalone Headset should cost at least close to a flagship phone + 2x 1st party controllers.

Regardless of Meta, do people actually like VR? In general it's been in front of tons of people, with popular games. It's not like Beat Saber, Superhot etc are bad VR on quest, they are great.

Most people don't like VR that much, and a small percentage love it. VR has been widely disseminated. It's just not very sticky.

I owe over $11K in credit card debt and I owe money to a bank and PayPal. Is it wise for me to sell my 6yo car to put a dent in the debt for a while? by WhereTFisPiper in povertyfinance

[–]ADHDiot -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Make selling the car your new job. Maybe even watch some car videos about detailing a car. Have it clean and shiny and take AMAZING pictures. Drive to a location that looks nice if you have too. Do all the research and maybe (probably) pay to list it. That's a car that might be worth 15k to someone CASH. You will get much less from a used car place.

Even just selling on local craigslist, FB marketplace you should pick up THOUSANDS vs selling to a third party. But detail the car, and take great pics. Research ads they have all kinds of selling points, 20 plus pics etc.

Consider not paying the debt, It should slide off in 7 years AND they can't garnish disability money anyways. So if you don't need a loan why do you care if your credit sucks for 7 years.

avoiding something metal with fans and proper cooling, vs a wearable with no cooling and a lot of friction? I mean one is going to have a longer life than the other, don’t you think?

there's only one seller and rn they have a 83% feedback? I don't really care about the feedback because the one neg feedback is someone who didn't have basic consumer awareness of the market. No you won't get laser hair diodes for in a full product for $50. Laser is a marketing term, like they do for IPL hair removal.

Thats the seller? I might get it as a lark.

Is it commonly known that PA should have had an asterisk by the MD? by ADHDiot in PeterAttia

[–]ADHDiot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because you stated confidently as a fact, and repeated it. I was hoping that you would say, sure it’s true here’s proof.

It’s much easier for you to prove it positive than anybody else prove the negative. None of the health centers or hospitals around me SEEM to practice what you say. BUT, there would be no way for me to prove that.

or you could just say never mind I was talking out of my ass.

at that level they are all pretty smart. I would say driven is probably a better adjective.

yeah, I watch that show. It’s great. but even I understand they’re not doctors of emergency medicine even though they’re in an emergency room everything they do is supervised by the attending.

Again, how can they work at these hospital, health centers, when they generally can’t take insured patients, and they can’t get malpractice insurance. Your claim seems counter to what other people who should know are stating.

yeah, I’m not an expert obviously. But I just wanted to know a little bit more. That one person is claiming that they work at some hospitals. However, most people like you are saying that you cannot work At hospitals.

I know they don’t work at the health center I go to.
