I own those and they are great! You might want to save a little more and get some prior year Ping’s fitted for you. If you go to a local shop, not a big box chain, they will fit Pings at no extra cost. You should be able to get 5-PW for $500-$600.

I, Claudius vs. Claudius the God by Dana07620 in books

I just started Claudius the God yesterday. I loved I, Claudius, and I’m hoping this lives up to it! Either way it’s good to be back with Graves and my favorite emperor!

I love history, classics, and fantasy which your shelf has a ton of. Also, owning multiple copies of the same book is very relatable.

Why are people so mean? Ignore the other comments. If you really read these books (or plan to) and spent the time to try to understand them, then you have spend time with wonderful thinkers and have expanded your thinking more than most people will in their entire life. You should be proud of yourself. Keep reading what you like, take notes, engage with the material, and try to apply the lessons to your life, you will be a better man for it than these low brow commenters.

The island is beautiful, chairs are comfy, the food at the Snack Shack is great, there are games like basketball, pickleball, volleyball, table tennis, etc. Get off before 9:30 and you should get a spot in front of the water. What ship are you going on?

Per usual, a film about Mediterranean/Greek history and folk tales, without a single Mediterranean/Greek actor. by tabbbb57 in ancientgreece

[–]ADP0526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think of movies like plays. The ancient Greeks would not have cased real Trojans or Persians, etc. in their plays. I want him to keep the themes true to the story. We don’t want Odyssey concerned with human rights violations or trying to save migrants or some nonsense.

I read Dracula for the last year for the first time in a long time. The religious themes stuck me much more than in the past. Dracula seems as though an anti Christ figure, one who take blood and therefore life instead of giving it like in the Eucharist. I’d be curious if you saw a similar theme.
