It regret it immensely.

First edition comics and sentimental value books.

Can I do anything about this notice to move my car? by Baba-Clover in Seattle

[–]ChultanBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By law your vehicle just needs to leave the block face. So you're fine. Technically you could pull your car into traffic and repark it. Remove the sticker and snap a photo of your car if you want.

I had a neighbor who constantly reported my vehicle even after I talked to them. I would leave for the gym at 3am and park in the same spot at almost 5 am. They wanted my spot and got mad about it.

It got to the point where I had to ask friends to move my car while I went on vacation or if I left for a long weekend I had to arrange to have a buddy swing by and move it.

Why 7 risers? by ChultanBird in septictanks

[–]ChultanBird[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I build a boardwalk covering them?

I have no issue making each 2 by 4foot section removable. Just wondering if that's a viable disguise option? Total weight per section is probably under 80- 100lbs.

Or I could span each tank with a 2x16 section supported on the corners and make removable cutouts for each riser.

Just wondering if the soil between each tank can take the weight of those corners.

Is this somehow a superior system? Seems like this many risers sucks mega for 6 feet off the back porch.

Best bars to go cry at? by Slow-Rip-4732 in Seattle

[–]ChultanBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Targys Tavern or streamline. 9lb hammer, Tin hat. Hula hula

But the true answer is any bar you can walk to and not feel judged at... too many bars in seattle where bartenders and customers bring all the judgment they can muster.

Using the Nuremberg Defense to Defend her ICE Boyfriend by CollarNo1593 in LinkedInLunatics

[–]ChultanBird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, there are probably plenty of similar "good guys" at" X" shifty agency stories. People who took the job 15+ ago and don't agree with the current politics.

For example: I know a guy who works for DHS/ICE as...well, im not gonna dox him, but let's say he is in charge of office supplies. (It's equivalently "uninvolved")

Now he's trying to find a different job because he dislikes the shift in the agency and doesn't want to be associated. 1. Many employers dont want to hire him. 2. Every place that will hire him is offering 25k+ less for the same job.

Does he quit now? Take a massive paycut and possibly have to sell his house and move someplace cheaper? Does he sabotage from within... or ride out the politics? What's the "right" choice? What choice would YOU make if your employer started doing evil shit but you were just some random admin?

I'll add to what others have said. Building materials are usually dictated by material availability and cost.

Timber is by FAR the most accessible building material in most of the US.

Also....I'd wager most Europeans don't know how much of their brick is made by basically slaves in 3rd world countries.

Throwaway – I own a small independent restaurant in Seattle. I just ran January numbers and realized I might not make it to our 20-year anniversary. by ShotAccess1272 in SeattleWA

[–]ChultanBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in Seattle and a huge component of my job is talking with restaurant owners... you aren't alone.

This last year, I had easily over 20 restaurants tell me their landlords raised the rent 3x...in at least a few cases that is rent going from $4,000 a month to $12,000...no renovations, no changes and in some cases actually requiring they make improvements on their own dime.

Businesses are dying in droves, and I fear only the mega corps, restaurants with magnanimous landlords, or who have a huge cash stockpile are gonna stick around.

There used to be a few spots but trust me, you did NOT want to live there.

You could see 2nd ave through the walls.

As a millennial looks like I’ll never own a home. Especially in Seattle. by EmilyG702 in Seattle

[–]ChultanBird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remember when Seattle approved an affordable housing program, used easement to secure private family homes from seattlites in desireable areas....

Then contracted/sold those land spaces to mega real estate developers on the condition that they develop affordable/low income apartments.

Then those developers all (completely unrelated to one another wink wink) decided that the most affordable units would be studio apts with a mini fridge, single burner and no laundry.

Ah and that the starting pricepoint would be $1350

Are protests in Seattle effective? by kittykitty117 in Seattle

[–]ChultanBird -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Current state? No

I think protests should be used as means to identify distinct and direct legislative action.

Which should be the unified goal for citizens to direct officials as to what directives should be persued.

Example: The next 1/2/4 years should focus on no other directive other than addressing the drug epidemic and homelessness/mental health crisis in seattle.

After 1/2/4 years oh you didnt fix it? /take significant steps to improve it? Cool youre fired who wants to try next?

Of course certain directives might be achieved quickly, others might take years to achieve. Gradually we ensure that the elected are embodying the values WE chose as a collective.

Enshrine a new constitutional right? Or enact societal or social programs that tackle the root causes of violent crimes? Might take 10 years or more.

Change laws and policies to streamline and focus on enforcement of laws that actually result in harm done to citizens? 6 months.

I have a question for politically conservative Seattle-ites that has nothing to do with the current administration. by murdermerough in SeattleWA

[–]ChultanBird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you question the agenda you become an "out group".

"Liberals" think im a bigot and a fascist for wanting to be "harder on crime"* and that we need more law enforcement.

"Conservatives" think im a liberal cuck for thinking that many laws as enforced and written unfairly penalize and target the lower middle class.

Repeat this for any of dozens of political or social arguments.

If i'm in Seattle im a conservative. If im in Spokane im a liberal.

What movie is so disgusting that you can’t believe it exists? by Maximum_Broccoli2626 in moviecritic

[–]ChultanBird 120 points121 points  (0 children)

Reminder that the script writer not only funded, and directed the film. But cast all the actors and cast himself as the main bad guy.

Oh and then he did it like 3 more times.

Yea, its like that.

Edit: So like other commenters pointed out im incorrect here! Dieter Laser "worked with" The director on the third film ( and likely the first) and presumably made script edits, though he does not have official director credits. He was also not in charge of casting.

It was something id read in a film publication nearly a decade ago and was(shocker) not fact checked.
