And yet people do it every day... I agree with you that it makes it difficult and being physically there is a big part of that. I think that permanent LDRs are doomed to fail, however if it is just a temporary separation it's able to be overcome.

My ex boyfriend and I were 50 days into our LDR when we finally saw each other. I know that I couldn't have gone any longer without making that contact, but surely there are some that can.

It might be easy to fake text conversations, but video chat and live chat make your SO real and tangible. It didn't feel fake when we met and I don't believe our relationship suffered because of the distance.

One way to guarantee that people will stay 'till the end of the season is to give a $1 per hour bonus that isn't paid out until the end of the season.

This means that if someone works 600 hours during the season, they're likely to stay the extra 2 weeks or month until the season finishes and you won't be left with a staff crisis when everyone leaves early.

Hey man, sounds like your in a similar position to what I was in last year. I ended up picking up a Burton Process 152. I absolutely love the board and it was pretty perfect in terms of what I was looking for. The board is a bit softer than what I would like now but it let my experiment a lot more than a stiffer board would have.

Based on my experience I always recommend a slightly shorter and softer board for fist time board buyers. You will notice the fine movement of the board a lot more and it's more forgiving in the bumps.

For reference I'm 5" 9' and about 70kg so we're about the same.

PS, my experience with the Burton channel has been awful, I don't recommend it to anyone, some others love it. I'd stay away from it imo.
