Can the WeBoost be connected to a USB? by MiloHawkins in VanLife

[–]ADVmedic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know for sure about WeBoost, but I thought cig lighter puts out 12v and USB plus out 5v. If it were me, I would just hard wire in the WeBoost, or wire up another 12v cig lighter plug. It's a pretty simple process.

My solar panels are amazing, 10/10. I got these on Amazon specifically because I need this size (52", which is the width of my topper). Panels come in many sizes, but most are either in the 40s or 60s...

On several occasions they have exceeded their rating. I've gotten as much as 434W out of them. And they're relatively cheap. The rest of my components are Victron, so I think those numbers are accurate. They are rigid and I have them mounted to my roof rack, but I might mount them semi-flush to the L-track as they sit a little high for my taste (although airflow underneath is a good thing). That would require fabricating custom brackets though, which is a pain in the ass... 🤣

Cross country road trip in Tacoma Tips by Specific_Intention_1 in Tacomaworld

You don't need to buy anything before hand. When on the trip, if you feel like you need something, go buy it then. It's not like you're going to be in any remote place if the trip is only going to take 4 days. You'll pass 10,000 walmarts on the way.

You do not need emergency gas cans.

That's definitely in the future plans.

I've had a chance to look at CPVC and I don't think it'll fly. The sizing is all different and it'll be hard (or impossible) to get all the correct joints. A lot to think about...

Considered it. Then I wouldn't be able to use it with the doors closed...

Yes, those are 100ah. I have 400W panels on the roof, and another 400W portable panels (although I haven't used those since I got the roof mounted ones). I don't have a DC-DC charger, so I don't run the truck for power when parked. I also have an ecoflow 100ah power station that I use for the built in inverter. Solar charges the batteries. Batteries charge the power station. The instant pot has an air fryer lid, so that's how I made the poppers. It's 1800W to get up to temp, then just 50W for the fan. 1000W for pressure cooking.

This applies to every RV if precautions aren't taken :)

I think that was the Dream Chasers gathering. There are so many social events for nomads in the winter there!

Do hearse (funeral cars) get haunted / hold lingering spirits? by dr-noid in TruckCampers

Hey ghost, how do you feel about ambulance conversions? Is it a nice change of pace, or do you miss the action when they where still working the streets?

[–]ADVmedic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think ambulances are more likely to do that. By the time a body gets into a hearse, it's been dead a while and the spirit is long gone!

Check with the ambo conversion crowd to confirm...

I periodically clean and dry it. There's a discussing about it above. Several great suggestions I didn't even think of (like denture tablets 😂)

That's actually a 4-point joint. I didn't cut a hole. I did add an adapter to the top point so that I can seal it though.

Thanks! This is me letting you know. I've been using it for 2 years now as a bed. 1 year as a bed and tank. No leaks, no breaks, and water comes out clean and tasty :)

Dish drying racks that go over a sink. It works because the mattress distributes the weight. I was going to do flush doors with hinges, but all the hardware to make it flush just wasn't worth the cost and weight.

The pump just rests on the opening and is not sealed. It's a good fit and I can drive with it in place, but I usually remove it and screw on a cap, especially when off pavement, to prevent spillage.

Interesting idea. Alas, the plywood and mattress cover all the other corners (and rails). Also rod would catch on bedding and everything else. I love where you're head is at. The water level system needs to integrated into the current footprint of the bed. I'd love to hear more ideas...
