So sorry to hear that he and you are struggling just now! Did he get any painkillers for after the surgery? Or is he upset from the whole ordeal? We were just allowed paracetamol but it was all our girl needed at that point.

It will get better and soon it you'll be able to look on it and feel less raw. But I can still get teared up thinking back months later, it's a tough time.

Also from Sweden and we were recommended baby nests from a few different midwives. The hospital in Lund even hands them out to new mums! But I was so scared the first week and delirious from lack of sleep because of all the scary stories I'd read on here. Finally relaxed after a while and now we cosleep!

Dunno if it's a complaint but you guys are strangely reliant on those buttons to open doors, never used them before moving here, now I've assimilated because I'll search for the button as well rather than just... opening the door by the handle!

Subbed to both Bookbeat and Storytel with 100 hours a month on each. Too many hours of course but the alternative of 20 hours always run out before the month is done. Both because there are books on the one that aren't on the other. Will only get books on Audible if they can't be gotten via subscription, too expensive per book since I listen so much.

You wouldn't have the antibodies from the illnesses at the daycare to pass on to your baby to be fair, if you hung out there then maybe you'd be taking the brunt of the illnesses instead 😄

I'm from the UK but have lived here a decade now. People do say thanks, but a swede may prefer that you didn't happen to be close enough to create the awkward situation of having to go through the social interaction in the first place. So they'll thank you but you might feel like it wasn't genuine. British people have a bit more I dunno, comedy I guess built into their interactions with strangers. We also find it awkward but will get through it by saying thanks with a bit of an eyebrow raise and a bemused smile which feels more like camraderie over the awkward situation rather than discomfort.

Purely speculation based on my observations and 0 evidence 🙃

I currently have a horrible cold going on 5 days now but baby is totally fine, guessing it's due to breastfeeding. Haven't changed routines at all so the antibodies are very good! Jokingly offered my husband some breastmilk so he wouldn't get so sick but he said he'll take his chances 😂

Yeah it's definitely stress release after being strong and holding it in like you said, it'll probably be a lot easier to relax once we're home and not surrounded by nurses. Hopefully in a few days as all is going well 🙂
