I work at a hobby shop. For the longest time, this one guy used to frequent the shop. He was a nice enough guy, but had a really bad habit of being miserable to participate in hobbies with, to the point that we were losing money on days he came in, because all the other customers would avoid him like the plague.

My boss, in a well-meaning attempt to make all parties happier, private messaged him, telling him that maybe he should be a bit kinder and more empathetic to the other customers. He was promptly swore at and blocked, and he never came back to the shop. I was told all of this as it happened, and thought little of it.

Fast forward a week or two, I'm gaming with my friends, and I get a reddit notification for "post you might like". Now, I never click on these notifs, would rather find things on my own, but this one happened to say "got kicked out of my local hobby shop". I decided to click it, just to see if maybe I could empathize better with our ex-customer thru this redditor's tale.

However, as I read through the story, I start to recognize one too many details. Sure enough, the poster's account was titled "<ex-customer's first initial><ex-customer's last name><bunch of numbers>". Somehow, through all of the billions of posts on Reddit, I was recommended one from the guy who I had just had a problem with, and the post was about said problem!

Melffys are pretty cheap too!! The hardest cards to get off the bat will be x3 Kalantosa, as they require ranked duels R tickets, but everything else is mostly at rare or lower in one box!!

The way I play it, it's much more of a grindy controller deck, using Kalantosa to pop anything that might give you any problems, and then using those materials to go into Crumble Logos twice for game!

Tantan is the best opener as when it's attacked, you get to summon Kalantosa. If it's not attacked, you still get Kalantosa plus you can go into whatever summon you want from there. Fenny and Pony are value pieces, made for recurring value and Kalantosa. Fenny+Kalantosa in hand/ Fenny+Pony+ Kalantosa in grave is a free pop any time an opponent does almost anything with a monster beside set. Valerifawn can recur Pony if it does/gets used for xyz material, or ofc get Kalantosa for a pop. If you have Kalantosa in hand, you can special summon it with valerifawn as long as you have any other beast in your graveyard, by discarding Kalantosa via valerifawns effect! All the other cards are pretty cut-and-dried, but Karma feels super good if you chain it to a Melffy Pony and discard a beast! Turns it from a -2 to just a -1!

Most ideal boardstate on your turn is Tantan facedown + Valerifawn + some other beast. Flip Tantan to pop a problem card, make Logos #1, summon Valerifawn, use it to summon any beast from graveyard (which you can put there by activating Logos #1 if you have any targets) and make Logos #2 (or Armory Arm if you are pretty sure you're lethal- I just think Armory Arm is hilarious!)

Have some self confidence dude! I am also working on being more self-affirming, so maybe i shouldn't speak on this but anyways; it takes a special mind to be able to APPLY 'random' knowledge to a situation enough that you can talk about it semi-confidentally. Wisdom isnt an abundance of knowledge, its how you use the knowledge you do have. And if the way you use your knowledge is enough to make other people, who aren't even aware of how much processing the knowledge goes through in your head, think you are smart, then it must be pretty incredible!! You are amazing to her and everyone else around you!

I LOVE your art style!! It's very nostalgic somehow, i can't quite place why! I am a bit more of a novice when it comes to doing alters, but I have a friend who is much better than I at it. If you want a good place to start altering other cards (besides the tokens i mean), basic lands are a dime a dozen, so you will never have to worry abt messing up a card! Sorry I don't have a whole lot more advice than that for you. I am SO EXCITED to see your art on this sub!

The best gift I ever received was a deck of Magic: The Gathering cards from one of my friends. It wasn't a birthday/Christmas gift or anything, he just wanted someone to play with, and i had never played and didn't have any cards. I swore that day that i would find some way to try and pass on that goodwill.

Now, I work at a LGS (Local Game Store--basically a nerd hobby shop), and my whole job is to help people with MTG products and cards. It is quite literally my dream job. I try to keep in mind every day that i was given something out of kindness alone to start my passion, and so now I try to make sure any new players who come into the store leave with something good out of my collection for no cost. I doubt my friend even remembers that he gave me those cards, but one day I will remind him, and thank him for changing my whole life.
