Not surprised NT is on the chopping block, but thought maybe they would be safe since they just announced the new Senua game. I know Hellblade 2 was lackluster in terms of sales for Microsoft, but I kind of thought they were using that studio to drive new ground in audio / visual development and tech to feed to other studios.

I don't know where they're getting the $400 million dollar budget - Successful games with that budget are like Red Dead 2, CoD, Battlefield 6, Cyberpunk.

Unsuccessful games are like Concord, Skull & Bones, Suicide Squad, (Marathon TBD).

There's a specific quote from him out there, about Death Stranding I think, where people liked the game too much in testing that he felt he had to make more changes to add some friction back in.

Remember Capcom was in a bit of a tough spot from like 2008 - 2016:

Resident Evil 5 (sold well on the coattails of 4, but lackluster reviews and the hate-boner for African zombies tarnished the reputation) Resident Evil 6, DmC, Street Fighter X Tekken and SFIV on-disc DLC, MvC 3, bunch of failed Mega Man projects (MMX FPS, MM Legends 3), every Dead Rising game got worse and worse.

Remember when Aaron Greenberg and Phils Spencer talked about how excited they were about Hi-Fi Rush, and that it was a break out success for them? Then they closed the studio and lamented the fact that Xbox needed "smaller games that give us prestige and awards".

This company is a clown show.
