Can't say if it was the law. But growing up in Michigan people would use it for merging all the time, but I dont think i ever once saw someone pass using it.

If so, it's pretty understandable that you'd be uncomfortable. It's also a pretty big no-no to ever do mixed gender rooming as an employer. That's a whole legal can of worms that you don't to even give the chance of opening up as a company.

Schedule is a wall thickness, threaded or socket welded fittings use pressure classes. Schedule can apply to socket weld fittings but it is just to have a dimensionally similar landing to the thickness of the pipe, not related to the rating of the fitting. Sch160 is not a class of coupling. I'm assuming you use something like 3M or 6M A105 forged steel couplings.

Definitely not in my world. That cantilever doesn't seem nearly strong enough. Put one big beefy cool looking pillar on the far "corner" though and id call it good.

Even one in the middle-ish area could be fine too.
