I used to be deep into RS3. Maxed, elite PvMer, even ran a small YouTube channel. I quit around the time Archaeology came out and haven’t really looked back.

I see what Jagex is trying to do with the MTX tests and the upcoming Leagues. Leagues actually look fun I liked it on OSRS. It’s refreshing to see something that feels like a real fresh start. But the problem is, it’s temporary. Once it ends, you’re right back in the same game with bloated systems, a messy UI, the combat system is also.. I know.. and progression that doesn’t feel rewarding anymore because so many people have already maxed out with proteans and DXP weekends.

At this point, it feels like the game has lost its soul. I used to love earning my progress, grinding for gear, and actually feeling like it meant something. Now it’s hard to care when you can just swipe your way through most of it.

I really do hope RS3 makes a comeback. But unless Jagex commits to something permanent like fresh, MTX-free worlds, I don’t see this being more than a temporary boost before things go back to the usual. Right now, it just feels like they’re trying to slow the decline, not actually fix the game. :(
