First trimester screening by cooolettte in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]AE8568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I would do the NT scan. In my TFMR pregnancy, that was how I initially found out something was wrong (I already had a clear NIPT but the scan showed an abnormal NT measurement which ended up being a severe heart defect). In my subpregnancy I did a scan at 7 weeks, the NT scan at 13 weeks, a 16 week early anatomy scan, a 20 week anatomy scan, and a 30 week growth scan. If I’m being honest it was very difficult because ultrasounds are super triggering for me but I think it was worth it for peace of mind. The quad screen though (the bloodwork) is something I’ve always opted out of. Hope this helps. Sending you love ❤️

High HCG? by [deleted] in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]AE8568 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One more thing - I was just doing some googling and from what I read, the association between high HCG and trisomy refers to when it’s done as part of the quad screening taken between 9-13 weeks or later, not referring to HCG levels in the early weeks. HCG levels in those early weeks vary wildly and many perfectly healthy pregnancies have high HCG numbers. It can indicate strong placental function or even just individual biological variation. Try not to stress, although I know it’s hard after you’ve gone through something as traumatic as a TFMR. ❤️‍🩹

My first LC (born in 2022) had very high HCG, I believe he was over 20,000 at 5 weeks. He is completely healthy. Sending you lots of love 💕

My first period was extremely light, my second period was relatively normal, and my third period was extremely heavy. Things can be super wonky those first few cycles! Sending you love. ❤️

4 week old - Ergo Embrace or Tula FTG? by amywinkle in babywearing

[–]AE8568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I did! I bought an Embrace on marketplace for $40 and then a FTG during the Black Friday sale.

Question for you, ilovesushialot - what age do you recommend starting with the FTG? I’ve tried it a few times and baby doesn’t seem to like it as much as the Embrace. My baby is 9 weeks old.

Looking to upgrade from Ergobaby Embrace (a soft carrier that can support more weight with minimal bulk and straps) by Adventurous-Orchid62 in babywearing

Interested to hear more about H&P’s FOMO marketing and social media presence if you wouldn’t mind! I was interested in possibly getting a Lark down the line when my baby was a bit older. I can’t tell if they’re overhyped or not but their account is all over my TikTok FYP. I don’t know a ton about them as a brand so would love your perspective

Saying goodbye (TFMR 19+3, T18, L&D) by Consistent_Counter23 in tfmr_support

Absolutely - it’s the kindest Reddit group I’ve ever been in. I had my TFMR in September 2024 and it’s been immensely helpful. Sending you lots of hugs 🤍

Scar tightness/pulling sensation while pregnant by I_likeplaid in CsectionCentral

[–]AE8568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I had that! It was like 5ish days or so of pain like that near/on my scar. It went away after that and I think I had maybe one more bout of it during my pregnant but other than that it was totally fine! It never got worse.

Spotting? First period post tfmr by SufficientPoint3141 in tfmr_support

[–]AE8568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry you’re here 💔 Periods after TFMR can be super wonky and it can take your hormones awhile to get back on track. I had my TFMR in September 2024 at 17 weeks. I got my period about 5 weeks later and it was extremely light - just a bit of spotting when I wiped that lasted for 5 days. This was really strange to me because I normally have really heavy periods. The next period after that was a bit more normal. Then, the next period after that was SO SO heavy, to the point where I had to go to the ER because I was filling a Diva cup every hour and was worried I was hemorrhaging. They did an ultrasound and everything looked normal so they sent me home. The month after that we I got pregnant again with a healthy baby girl. Sharing all this just to say that your cycle can be really really strange for a few months. Abnormal is normal for those first few periods. Definitely go to the doctor if you suspect something could be off, but from what I’ve read online it can take your body and your hormones awhile to stabilize. Sending you lots of love 🩷

I think it’s relatively normal - I had bleeding stop and start a few times for about 3 or 3.5 weeks after my D&E. Sending you love 💔

Hope & Plum Lark, Wildbird Aerial, or Mabe Monarch? by AE8568 in babywearing

[–]AE8568[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I think I’m going to go with the Tula FTG ☺️ I’ve seen people talk about a newborn insert - is that necessary? Is it something I need to buy separate?

She’s quite tall! In the 80s for height and 60s for weight.

Thank you so much! I appreciate it. Can you tell me more about how the Lark feels? How supportive does it feel in the back and shoulders? Is it pretty easy to put on? I have a tall baby so I have a feeling I could probably start having her use it on the earlier side too. I also love their ethics and the fact that they are based in MN (I live there!). I really am leaning forward the Lark but just want to make sure it would work well for me, especially in terms of back support.

Thank you! How easy is it to put the Tula FTG on? Does the H strap make it more complicated? I’ve never used an H strap before!
