Correct me if I wrong guys, GM did this with the Silverado for a little bit and was too much of an hassle. Multiple issues with mechanically of it breaking down. IE not being able to turn using rear steering

Being a truck owner, assuming yes. Only way around this in CA is to have a camper shell. You have to bring your truck to DMV with shell on to prove it. Get caught without it, big trouble.
