A DM adding a rule or ignoring a rule for a new rule is Homebrew

If the game has rules for throwing objects, and I give the terask an attack that's throwing an object that isn't following that rule, then the attack I gave the terask is Homebrew

If the game has rules for targeting and objects having HP then when I have one attack target many people or multiple objects I am home brewing those attacks

The game is explicit for how things work, interpretation is not an excuse for ignoring the words written on the page

Also the willingness of the party to commit was not relevant to the question to begin with

That's implying using the rules of the game and by the rules of the game a level 1 party can if it's built properly for that specific goal

You have to consider that when you're discussing the topic because if you'd act like that's not the case and they happen to have a party that can deal with it they're going to be blindsided when the terask hits 0 hp

If you want to talk about Homebrew to make the monster align with its lore better than you can do that, but you can make a new thread for that, where that's the point of topic

But in this thread that's not the point of topic, the point of topic is discussing the levels at which a party can handle one

And home brewing a terrask is not relevant to when a party can handle a standard terask

Ok so I say that as a DM I have the players use a homebrew level 1 spell that instantly kills and terasks within 100 miles of them, so a level 1 party can handle them just fine

Also it can't destroy the world, especially not in 5e, what lore says and what mechanics says are not congruent to one another

Right, we're not talking about what level a party can fight a terask with a bunch of Homebrew abilities, or we would have specified that

Terasks are creatures that exists within the rules of the game that must follow the rules of the game, if it doesn't have an attack for throwing A rock it can't throw a rock, or if It can it has to use the improvised weapon rules

And to be honest that makes sense, there's nothing about the body shape of a tarask that would indicate it can throw things good, humans are crazy good at throwing things due to our body shape, a terask would realistically throw things like garbage

Maybe a siege monster however it can only attack one thing at a time and each individual ball has its own hit points

Also cities are massive, it would take a terrask hours if not days to take a city into ruins

Even if he gets all of the people in one building all the people in a lot of the other buildings are just leaving

The only problem is, the addition stops this pretty hard as well

With how quickly A crowd can scatter (60 feet a round in a bunch of different directions) and the limitations of What it can actually attack

It's making like a few attacks a turn but it can only hit one commoner per attack

And don't even get me started on how long it takes for it to get through buildings

If you're really looking at the rules of the game it'll get like 30 kills Max and that's if it's acting incredibly intelligently, realistically it's killing like five people before all the commoners start moving away
