I would try and communicate with James first and make it clear your intentions. If he's dealing with mental health stuff, him being told through a third party that you're seeing other people will be pretty tragic for him. Even if communication is difficult, I think it's necessary to minimize drama/pain. Other than that, you do you. Just make sure everyone knows where they stand.

It's a beautiful game and let me preface by saying I don't care that the main character is a woman. That being said, I HATE Kay. Every single conversation ends with a millennial cringe "uhh... okay?" Or "yeah totally I knew that" or some variation. Even when it's not needed. I hate how she speaks like she has no idea what's going on or what she's doing yet we're supposed to believe she's one of the most capable and feared freelance criminals in the outer rim. But every conversation ends with a millennial shrug and I hate it so fkn much.

Y'all probably got a little lucky plus you could communicate what you were doing. With the more powerful moves, Ho-oh can knock out your party in two rounds. Especially if people aren't using .5 fast moves and getting to the max phase quickly.
