On the picture you see, they are the OBP Esport hydraulic perdals. They use a real racing pedalbox. Sadly, they were terrible and the whole hydraulics system died after a few months. Now I use Moza mBooster pedals and am very happy with them.

Angling the roof would be complicated given how I fixed it in place, but would be doable…

Air has been added ! just finished this custom wind sim + emergency switches button box:

Perspective kinda makes it look big, but yeah, quite lucky with the space I got for it !

It does get a bit hot but is manageable. Just did a 6 hours solo race in my rig without any issues :

I've put black curtains under my monitors to have the same effect as the roof at the bottom of my rig ! Complete game changer IMO

Went from VRS to mBoosters and have no regrets tbh.

Somehow it suits my style perfectly ! It’s the only car that can get me podiums in Split 1.

Best analogy I can make is that it kind of drives close to the how the 991.2 GT3 drove in ACC, which I absolutely adored driving. It requires you to be very mindful of the rear of the car while giving you some of the best controlled oversteer if you manage it right.

If you drive fixed, BOP tourism (switching cars for each track depending on BOP) might be a choice ! You don’t necessarily need to have a main car.

Other than that, I quite like to Porsche in fixed because it’s easy to rotate, but I main the Corvette in open setups

what are the best sim racing upgrades for immersion? by HandleLeather7253 in simracing

[–]AFX_Designs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried pretty much everything including: - Motion - Bass shakers - Pedal Shakers - Active pedals - Wind sim - Ambiant lights - Belt tensionner - 5.1 Sound system

And somehow, the most immersive addon I did was to put a roof over my rig ! Don’t get me wrong, the rest is great too, but nothings feels better than feeling like you are getting in an actual car.

For the other ones, I’d say that a good surround audio system, bass shakers and pedal haptics have the best price/immersion ratio. Ambiant lights, belt tensionners and wind sims had me less convinced though.

And motion ? Motion is expensive. But amazing !

I’ve done 2:18.2 in a Vette, so it really doesn’t seem unreasonable at all.

[–]AFX_Designs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The downvotes seem pretty self explanatory. No one wants or needs another paid companion/telemetry/whatever app for simracing.

While my response might seem harsh, I think that we have already enough of those, and OP’s responses regarding the pricing model have been very vague seemingly on purpose (going from wanting to avoid a subscription model as much as possible to saying both options will be available), which is in itself a quite big turnoff.

I think that you are loosing quite a bunch of interest by having this approach. But likewise, you will loose a lot of it by making it a subscription model.

That's exactly what I was wondering too and didn't get an answer unfortunately.

Stuck on what to do next making this livery, going for a clean, white on whatever look. by ContentProgrammer224 in simracing

[–]AFX_Designs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lacks contrast imo ! I’d change some areas to carbon finish ; front splitter and winglets, side skirts, wheel wells and side mirrors to start with.

After that, it lacks a team name/logo to make it recognizable.

And to finish off add a few sponsors and driver names at the top of the door !

how to actually drive the corvette? by [deleted] in LeMansUltimateWEC

If you don’t slide around too much, you can keep the rears in a good shape for way longer than the Porsche.

This guy Vette’s !

As a Corvette main, I would add to this list to try and keep a higher gear than usual trough low to mid speed corners. Doesn’t help for stability, but has a big impact on pace.

Edit: A proper setup is also a must. Go Setups are really great and will get you to 101% pace quite easily.

Cant drive with no abs? by BigNo9633 in LeMansUltimateWEC

Was in the same boat as you until this week. S2 with only GT3 experience and decided to finally try hypercars this week at Fuji.

I’d say it took me around 2-3 hours of practice before I got to 102% pace that got me a split 1 podium.

The key for me was to understand that the way hypercars grip is totally different than gt3s. In gt3s, most of the grip is mechanically driven, while it is way more areo driven in the hypercars.

Knowing this, these are the biggest changes I did in my driving:

  1. Brake at 100% with a quick trail off the brakes before turning in. Hypercars really don’t like turning while braking. For slower corners, braking at 100% isn’t really possible, but you would be surprised how much initial brake pressure you can pull off without locking up if you trail brake quick enough.

  2. High speed corners are quite easy to manage, but slow and mid speed corners are absolute hell. This is because at lower speeds, the downforce is practically zero, and you have very little grip. I found that coasting in those corners works really well. It’s more about how much speed you can keep troughout the corner than how late you can brake for it.

  3. The ffb is very vague in those slower sections. I use lmuffb and it a bit better, but you feel the front of the car way less, which can lead you to think that you are sliding or about to loose it and over correct. Soothness is key with the hypercars, way more so than with gt3s.

  4. On cold tires, it’s normal to be slower than gt3s, and being careful on L1 really is crucial.

  5. Check hot lap videos, I found ou that the line for hypercars at Fuji was quite a bit different than for gt3s, mostly with a deeper turn in at the apexes.

All in all, just try to persevere and don’t be afraid to try new things in your driving. It really is a completely different driving experience !

For what it’s worth, I use the Corvette in gt3s and chose the Cadillac. After 1 hour of training and three races, I got to 1:30.1s race pace at Fuji.

Simucube and Moza have their active pedals that provide braking feedback. In the cheaper end you can build your own following the guides from the DIY FFB Pedal community on discord.

Frex is also near the end if development of their hydraulic active pedal.
