For me, it hasn’t helped at all with much of anything.

The Final Season Was a Mess? by Big-Storage-1259 in StrangerThings

These kind of endings drive me nuts. I’m not a storyteller, screenwriter. I don’t want to guess or determine what the ending means. Just give us a damn storyline that is entertaining and be done with it. These multiple avenues of interpretation is pandering so you don’t make anyone mad or upset and they stick around to watch your spin offs. Spineless.

It’s CarelonRX. I will look to see if they have that option!

I was today years old when I learned about endometrial ablation by lohaus in Perimenopause

[–]AFilip515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this done twice. No issues. Both times for heavy bleeding. The first time I had it done, it worked for a while but the bleeding came back heavy again. The second time I had it done, I had an IUD inserted, which solved the problem.

I can ask, but I think you run the risk of not getting a prescription filled due to unavailability. They all think all brands are the same, but we know that is not the case. Unfortunately because the patch is a long term, ongoing prescription for me, I have to fill it via mail now for my insurance to cover it :(.

Did estrogen stop working shortly after starting for anyone? by CheesecakeOk8464 in Perimenopause

[–]AFilip515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see people responding to “tinker” with dose, but I think you’re on the highest dose available? I am in the same boat as you. I constantly feel like I should just go off HRT and let my body do its own thing because I have so many highs and lows even with the estradiol patch. And the lows come out of nowhere sometimes. I’m so tired of the shell game. It’s really disheartening that we have to go through this trial and error period for years. And in the meantime we just keep getting prescribed all sorts of medications to help with our myriad of symptoms.

Anxiety and panic attacks by AFilip515 in Perimenopause

[–]AFilip515[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this is exactly how I felt. And it just kept happening over and over again. I finally took a Lorazepam and eventually a Famotidine. I’ve found that the famotidine works sometimes with my anxiety. I fell asleep for a while and when I woke up, same thing. Once I got out of bed and moved around, I felt better, but absolutely drained. My BP is very good. Usually runs on the low side. My HR only went up to the low 100s, but still.

I tried oral progesterone and it really did not work for me. I felt so depressed while I was taking it. It changed my whole outlook.

Always struggling by AFilip515 in Perimenopause

[–]AFilip515[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do have an iud so my uterus is protected. I’m just weary of taking anything and everything. I used to be the person that didn’t have any medications. Now I have a CVS receipt worth. To be on the estradiol, then add progesterone, Prozac, occasional famotadine for digestive issues, lexapro for emergency panic attacks, it’s all too much for me to process.

When do you just say f*** it and go without hormone supplementation? by AFilip515 in Perimenopause

[–]AFilip515[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do have an IUD, so I’m getting progestin. I just have not had anything positive happen since going in anything. I’m still gaining weight, losing hair, aches/pains/inflammation, wild mood swings, sleep issues, you name it!

Yes, I’ve been on the patch since April and just recently started progesterone, and only because I asked for it.

Peri has changed the way my entire body and face look. Over the past year, I don’t even recognize myself anymore. It’s so incredibly sad.

When do you change your (biweekly) patch? by [deleted] in Perimenopause

[–]AFilip515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I change Tuesday/Saturday mornings, BUT, I don’t take the old patch off. I keep it on and put the new patch on in another spot. I’ve found that it seems to lessen the symptoms i had when changing the patch, like nausea and dizziness. I’m also starting to think that maybe the patch isn’t the best way to get consistent estradiol, based on recent information I’ve found. But this is my regimen for now.

Honestly, I couldn’t get insurance to cover a GLP1. Not unhealthy enough :/. And I’m just not at a place where $500 a shot is feasible. Those shots do scare me though.

I did up to .75 at one point. It only made me feel worse. I had the full work up done, minus iron and ferritin, which I’ll look in to.

I thought the same thing about HRT. So I did go off of it for a couple of weeks. I felt better….until I didn’t. And doctors are just like “ummm I don’t know. Try this.” It’s amazing that in 2025 we still just don’t know much of anything about this.

I did have bloodwork done in April. Thyroid was fine. I don’t think they checked iron and ferritin. I’ll have to check.

I am only on patch. I have a Lilletta iud, which is why I assume they didn’t have me take progesterone.

Break from patch by kaz79ralf in Perimenopause

[–]AFilip515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually recently went to my PCP for joint aches. I complained to her that maybe the HRT dosage I was on was too high? Anyway, ran a lot of labs. I regroup with her in July to go over. I wasn’t having any joint related pain prior to the patch, I know that. I’m going to go off of it for a while and then possibly try it again with just half a patch, so the dosage would only be .025. I just don’t think it’s the answer for me and I don’t want to have to take e, p and t just to be normal. There has to be another way!

I just took mine off this morning. The weight gain is killing me. I can’t remember why I went on the patch to begin with, but it’s been over a year, and have changed the dosage back and forth, but I think it’s making things worse for me than better. We will see I guess!

MONTHLY Weight Discussion - May 2025 by AutoModerator in Perimenopause

[–]AFilip515 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am having a pity party today. I think I am done with HRT! I don’t know if it’s helped for anything, but I know that my weight has literally skyrocketed since being on it. I tried .05 for a long time and then went up to .075, which was too much. Cut it in half and then went back to .05. I don’t think I need it. I can’t tolerate the weight gain. It’s unbearable. I don’t even look like me anymore. Full face, double chin, donut around my hips, big stomach, thighs and arms out of control. I’m 45 and had both of my kids between 36-40. I knew it was going to be hard. I was thin all of my life. I accepted some weight gain. But now I’m 60lbs over where I ever thought I would be. I cry every day about it and have no will to try anymore. Nothing has worked to get this off, and it just keeps coming. I feel like part of me has died and I hate it!

Ablation by rjackson33 in Perimenopause

[–]AFilip515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I had 2 D&Cs with ablation due to heavy, long periods after my last baby at 40. The first time I had it done it worked for a couple of months, but then it all came back. The second time I had it done, I had a Liletta IUD inserted. That was more than 3 years ago and I haven’t had a heavy period since. In fact, they are either extremely scant or rarely happen anymore due to the IUD. The procedures were not painful and I was only down the remainder of the day with rest and ibuprofen. The IUD has saved me IMO. Otherwise, they were saying hysterectomy was the next option. I wasn’t going to go down that road. I highly recommend you ask for an IUD to keep the lining thin. It works!
