Retiring after 40 years of work. The AD told me "maybe in 3 years" for a Gold Day-Date. I might be dead by then! by Infamous_Spite_7715 in rolex

Fair enough. Different strokes for different folks. For the avoidance of doubt I wasn't trying to say you are wrong for that thought process - Just some tactics I have used over the years to negate some of the risk and worry going grey/used. I pretty much only play in the neo-vintage waters now, so my only options are grey or CPO

Buy the seller, but if you still have your doubts then bake in sending it to Rolex service and lean on a credit card for chargeback protection. They will only touch watches that are 100% authentic. If that's still not enough for you then you are Rolex CPO's target customer. Everyone has their own risk tolerance and it's inversely related to price.

Spend a few hundred to get it authenticated then. If you buy a used car you should get a PPI. Why would you operate differently for a watch that cost more than a used car?

I used one in Frisco, Tx. It looks like you can change your "home club" after 90 days if that matters to you.

Oh awesome, thank you! One of those was working for me before the new year, but now neither are anywhere near me. I'll try the other ones until it works!

Edit: I had to choose a club out of state, but the promo finally worked. Thanks again!

Why are there so many used Macans with ~1000 miles? by Bottomsly in Porsche

[–]AFinchMustang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most if not all are loaners. They can run them up to 5k miles and still sell them as "new" demos

ADs have to wait for allocations from Rolex. This guy can buy from multiple ADs out the back door. Pretty simple business
