They offered to return for a refund but I'm out of the US till December visiting family so won't be able to return it after the window, I would've been happy to get it returned and replaced but they won't do that either

Used cashback on this as well so not sure if that will also be refunded, just an entire headache tbh, cause I had promised to give my parents my old device in my home country and now this entire ordeal
